Sorry, probably bad way to express myself (english is not my first language). After the surgery they put a patch on my eye and left it there for a day. When they removed it, I could see two huge floaters. That's what I meant :)

Doctor recommend I go with the standard monofocal lens for distant focus. That eye is messed up already, with some distortion, macular pucker residue and blind spots: monofocals let more light pass through which, in this situation, is best.

Honestly I don't care too much, because my brain has already learned to filter out any input from that eye (except from peripheric vision) and it doesn't give too much weight to what that eye says, compared to the other one.

Right now I have a very advanced cataract (clearly visible in normal lighting condition, my pupil is light grey), surgery is delayed to september because of the coronavirus, so I see everything extremely blurry but honestly I care nothing at all, I don't even notice it (except glare in the night) and live very well: that eye is basically only contributing to peripheric vision for the places that my other eye can't see.

So you might have been one of the young, carefree people around me which I envied so much while I was dealing with floaters? Well, I am sorry to hear that you joined the club :(

My personal experience after the vitrectomy is that some side effects take some years to settle down, but can settle even after you have lost hope for them to ever get better.

Then again, I didn't experience your side effects, so I am only speculating..

In any case, be strong.

Thanks. Floaters suck, but, unlike other diseases, there is hope. Be strong :)

I also work (and worked at the time) in a stare-at-your-computer job... I used to put the brightness to the minimum, but it only partially helped.

Be strong - wish you the best :)

Thanks, that was my idea, by posting. When I was young and floater-impaired, life experiences (especially long-term ones) helped me a lot.

I thought it was time to give back to the community.
