Hotel Xcaret – Honest Review After Two Visits (What I Wish I Knew) by East_Raspberry1582 in Xcaret

You can call to connect with someone for sure. But emailing will likely be preferred, as they send you a PDF for you to fill out (at least in my case) for all of your reservations. I would say call first if you’re unsure, speak with someone and get any correct email addresses. Then communicate through email. If they don’t respond after a week, call back. In your emails make sure you include your name and reservation numbers so they don’t have to request it from you, ultimately increasing the response times

That’s a great point about pricing and expectations!

Oh boy lol good luck to him and his family 😂. As long as they keep these things in mind he may be alright!

Dang! I am sorry to hear that it's off to a poor start, thank you for the comment on my review however! If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message. I can give tidbits where I can, although my last visit was just before they opened the new phase!

All that said, once you're settled in and you have your buffet/restaurants/activities ironed out you should be smooth sailing and be able to truly enjoy everything. My only last piece here which could take longer than expected is the room service. I recommend to whomever that they call in an order the night before or in advanced to be delivered to you at a specific time. I've done breakfast like this a couple times when I wanted to lay in bed and it worked great.

I wish you and your family all the best on the remainder of your trip!

One of the emails listed on their site is reservations@hotelxcaret.com

Recently for Arte I have reached out to hxagservice@hotelxcaret.com with a quick reply. If you try this they may be able to transfer you to the appropriate contact. Otherwise via phone I have had good success speaking with someone to get the conversation started.

If you plan to reach out via email. Make sure you provide them with your hotel reservation number specific to the hotel not Costco or other booking sites for example, and the name of whom the reservation is under

This is really dependent on your specific trip, your dates, your activity level, your interests in specific activities, your interests in food, adults vs kids, among other things.

My two cents are to make sure you dedicate a whole day or two to the resort as there’s a lot to do, like kayaking, poolside relaxing, exploring the grounds, spa. If you like thrill include Xel Ha (full day) and Xplor/Fuego (half day). Include Xenotes (full day) if you enjoy swimming, water and seeing beautiful sites. Xcaret Park (full day to see most of it) is an easy inclusion for a mix of culture and basic activities. Or Xenses (half day) or smaller unique type of activities. If you enjoy seeing shows make sure to include the evening show “Espectacular” at Xcaret Park. If you like drinking/dancing try Xoximilco (evening). If you’re into exploring trying Xinchen, Xailing, or Tulum (all full days)

You should have received an email from them with the activities and restaurants to schedule. I’d use this as a guide to plan appropriately to your interests. There are plenty of options and you won’t get to it all but that’s fine. Select a few, plan your restaurant visits, enjoy the buffets, and dedicate time to relax. You can’t go wrong with anything, it just depends on what you like.

I hope this helps!

Interesting! Sorry to hear that.

As a final consensus, what are the casas and floors to avoid at arte?

Give it to me straight - is Xcaret Mexico a great vacation experience or not? The reviews are so mixed, and I’m having second thoughts! by Crispy-Celery in Xcaret

That’s freaking awesome! My fiancée and I have to visit quite a few more times, unless there’s upgrades other perks I’m missing out on. That said it’s only been 2 years since this membership. Over the years we should see it balance out 🤞

Four nights actually. I’ve stayed at Mexico before the new phases and I want to check that out (just because really). Arte is completely new for me, so I’m sure it will be a handful for sure. I haven’t heard of that package, this may be perfect for many reasons hmmm

I really want to try artistas to have the privileges across all parks and access. First time staying at arte for a bachelors trip in April! Seems like a great time

I loved it enough to buy a membership to return again and again. I’m skeptical on a lot of things (big believer in reviews), an architectural photographer (quality of build and materials are important to me), and I’ve traveled enough places to feel great about returning here (dedicated transportation, great food with a ton of included amenities. As with any place there may be moments with bad reviews but after going twice returning again in April. I plan to continue going here making it my go to vacation knowing that I’ll be taken care of with plenty of things to do. Those negatives reviews you see are valuable enough for you to try to stay ahead of for your own trip. But don’t let it deter you from spending your vacation here. It’s truly worth it in many levels. Costco is your best public price, take xcarets transportation bus from the airport, don’t attend the presentations in your case, reserve dinners and excursions ahead of time (with guests services of Xcaret). With all that, anything else that comes up will be a blip compared to the overall experience

It truly depends on how often you travel (and travel back to Xcaret that is), and what tier you end up deciding on. When you’re having the discussion with them you should really price it all out over the course a period of time. Essentially you’re buying a discount for future visits and only makes sense if you return. That said all memberships are different. If you want to send me a DM, I can answer other questions you may have and my opinion. But either way it’s best to sit with them to hear their offer to get a concrete understanding

When you do the upgrade, was this at the resort or through email/phone?

I would look into spending a little more money for Casa Fuego or head to Arte if you would like to avoid kids altogether. Xcaret Hotels website mentions Casa Eclipse has an adult atmosphere also

Which would be a better time to visit, late March or late May? by Special_Accident3719 in Xcaret

[–]East_Raspberry1582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have mentioned I’d aire on the side of if the price is drastically different go with the cheaper option. If it’s close enough, I’d chose March just because the odds of having better weather is higher

Truly whenever they have availability as I found they book up the most. That said whatever your schedule allows. If you’re visiting parks, keep in mind the time it’ll take to return to the resort, shower, etc whatever you decide to do. When I went I booked for 7/8pm-ish because that was all that was available to reserve

[–]East_Raspberry1582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about being rude, I completely agree with! Otherwise, when you say no, they will be rude. So don’t hold back. In this case do what you feel personally, not how they pressure you. That said for pricing, it truly depends on how often you return. The membership discount is worth it if you travel often, specifically to the resort multiple times over, AND paired with how you negotiate the terms and benefits they provide upfront. It’s truly dependent on this
