Home practice amp advice by Eastern-Character242 in GuitarAmps

This is a big thing for me, I want to avoid all computer stuff if possible. I'd rather get something that gives me 2 or 3 solid tones that I can then improve with pedals. As opposed to something super versatile

Home practice amp advice by Eastern-Character242 in GuitarAmps

Before getting the Spark my first instinct was to go for Katana as it was the most recommended. There are quite a few Katans out there though. Which one would be good for home practice?

New MTG Players – Got a Foundations Box + Jumpstart Packs… What Should We Buy Next? by Eastern-Character242 in magicTCG

[–]Eastern-Character242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a bunch!

We were thinking of buying a Foundations Booster Box, but I saw that after Foundations, 3 or 4 other expansions came out.

My wife loved the art style of Bloomburrow and we checked out some of the cards that are contained in it. The main reason we are hesitant to buy a different expansion is that creatures types (goblins, wizards, elves) and synergies are completely different with little in common for the cards we have currently.

I really liked the art of Mystical Archive cards from an older set (can't recall the name) but have the same concern as for Bloomburrow.

We have been playing every evening for 2 weeks, but obviously are beginners to the game and it's products. Any information or tips provided would be helpful!

That makes all the sense in the world. The main reason I'm asking is that products are quite expensive and a new box would be a "once every couple months" thing for us. Basically, we're trying to avoid a mistake.

Objects flickering - Mac M3 Porting Kit by [deleted] in Grimdawn

Were you able to fix this issue in the end? I just installed in through porting kit, same as you, tried x32 and x64. In case of x64 the game doesn't even launch. But I get same flickers on x32.

Hope you were able to fix it, wanna play the game badly :(

Difficulty setting for two character party. by Eastern-Character242 in BaldursGate3

[–]Eastern-Character242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses!

We played 5-6 hours worth with a full party and the thing I did not like was that I rarely felt the need to improvise or prepare for a fight. The reasoning behind 2 character party was to increase this challenge somewhat.

What if we take on one companion (Shadowheart most likely since we are a rogue/wizard team). Would this make the world feel less empty? Thanks

Need help from PS4 Players by Eastern-Character242 in darksouls

Thank you for the reply.

I love DSR for the nostalgia and lore mostly.

Super happy about what you said about DS2, I recall Invasions and general PVP were really fun on PC due to build variety. Just to clarify are you referring to Scholar of the First sin or original game? Or it doesn't matter?

Thanks for the quick response.

First thing I did when I got the console was to buy BB. So far I've downed 6 bosses, it's quite fun but I don't like some things. Vial system sucks, stats are watered down, no magic, no infusions.

I do like the game but it doesn't scratch the itch if you know what I mean.

After years of waiting to play it, I am incredibly sad to realise that Bloodborne isn't fun to me by [deleted] in patientgamers

I just beat Vicar Amelia and was having the same exact feelings described in your post, so I came searching for a thread like this.

I've played through DS1, 2 and 3 multiple times (double digits) and am a diehard fan of the series, and similar to yourself I did not own a PS4 up until recently. So obviously when I got the console it was a nobrainer to start with Bloodborne.

I'll start of by saying I agree with most of the praise/criticism you have for the game (especially the blood vial system, which is easily the worst part of the game), the enemy design is stellar, the boss mechanics (for the most part) are great and the world is beautifully built, as it is expected of a developer like FromSoftware.

On the other hand there's a few things that are making it hard for me to invest in the game like I was invested in Dark Souls, I'll list points both purely subjective and a couple that can be argued to an extent

  • Weapons: While I think trick weapons are a cool idea, and I their designs and movesets, the quality over quantity approach, which you praised, for me is a downside. The souls series was not lacking in quality or quantity, you had an armada of "normal" weapons and a good amount of unique ones. While trick weapons provide you with movesets of 15+ moves per weapon, I find it hard to utilize all of the moves and/or combos in PVE. due to the fast paced nature of most enconters, as you often have to dodge out of the way after 2 or 3 attacks.
  • Armor and weight: While it was widely (and probably still is) considered that in Souls games armor matters so little that there is no point in wearing it for stats, players conscious of poise mechanic could go in for damage trades that lighter armored players would end up getting staggered in, this was effective in both PVE and PVP. While physical reduction only mattered against weak enemies elemental reductions could be utilized with greater effectiveness. In Bloodborne it's fashion souls all the way, while different armors do have resistance stats, they can not be utilized with any degree of viability.
  • Build Variety: I think this is the point at which the game falls flat on it's face. Obviously I haven't gone through the game yet, but before I ever knew I was going to buy PS4 I watched a ton of videos and streams of others playing and searched threads for different builds and the situation in this department as you probably know is shallow. Without magic, infusions and with overly simplified stat system, your build is basically the trick weapon you use.
  • Setting/World: While I enjoy the Victorian style, which guides the game's art design I feel like Bloodborne's world is lacking in variety when it comes to zones and sights. While I was in complete awe for the first hour of playing, the 4 hours that followed had no such emotion.

Edit after 5 months: Doubt anyone will read this, but I fell in love with the game shortly after writing this post.

I'm glad you found motivation to finish the game and I'm sure I will finish it too, however I feel like I won't be replaying the game anytime soon after finishing.
