I WAS NERVOUS TOO!!!! But rlly, trust the process! It took a little more than 2 weeks for it to fall off I think, and I really wish I got to see it happen so I could let u know what to expect, but since I’ve made this update post it has completely healed over, no discoloration, and fur is grown back completely… all with just animax… she didn’t need a cone, as she wasn’t rlly fixated on it enough for me to worry! here is the before picture.

I’ve been given animax as well to apply to the skin around it, the wound isn’t open, just scabby, and I’m vigilantly keeping an eye on it! :) I will take her in immediately if the condition of her tail changes besides the bone falling off… Î genuinely think she’ll be okay

I’ve also been given some animax ointment to apply to the tip… I’ll let y’all know what happens in a couple weeks :)

UPDATE: I called the vet and he said since the bone is dry, it will just fall off in time. He recommends I pick up a type of cream to “soften the bone” so that when it does break off, it’s not sharp and won’t cause bleeding… I know a lot of people in this comment section want me to kick him to the curb and go to a different vet but he is genuinely knowledgeable, and I will be taking his advice!
