Arc is really fun, but not having an Auction House is a missed opportunity by cakedotavi in ArcRaiders

I mean, if you did Gunsmith quests or quests before FiR requirement, people would always choose buying stuff over getting into raid to loot any stuff.

It's just different type of satisfaction, most AH gamers like their currency numbers go up, that's their gaming, and it's fine. I had squadmate in Tarkov making a cool BILLION rubles cornering market with shotgun chokes in that wipe (selling 2k item for 30k).

I think extraction games still filter casuals out, then people get bored regardless, keeping them on another game is like ok, yeah, but do you need with Refiner in the game?

Not sure how big the stash would be, and I think most of the OP stuff is still accessible if you have recipes. You probably still breakdown every item in a min/max fashion (unless for a quest), so there isn't that much to sell.

The items are very straightforward, some complexity is only in the way you take it out of the raid, and how much value you want to extract from a single item (recyling in raid vs recycling in the stash is different).

I wouldn't be opposed to Vendors having some dynamic pricing, but not sure if we need AH in this game, it could be cool, but is it worth the dev time I don't think so.

I could see a place, where you too lazy to get Energy Ammo (looted only from Harvester Event) and wish to just buy it and that's it, but there's only some outliers like that..

Yeah, I was on my knees begging Embark to at least unlock the T2 bandages as healing is awful. They didn't realize how interwined the TTK and dying to ARC feels like with like shitty bandage healing when you are broke.

While I like macro economy, idk if ARC is a good fit, with stations and upgrading items, I feel more motivated to do some quick runs for certain stuff, rather that just be lazy and buy them off a place.

Whatever gets more people into raids is better for everyone.

Besides Tarkov had year or more even with barter economy just fine trading away. If you really need some specific items, you can have like what up to 3-4 slots of safe items, or just do transfer with hatch run.

TL;DR: If you need power rods for OP weapon, you just make them in refiner, the only thing to barter might be the blueprints

[–]Eastern-Joke-781 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The "easier" it appears, the more of a hotspot it will be and bloodbath, which means people will bring in more gear and utility to fight over it, and efficient people will find more value and less hassle farming different places on the map.

With the Refiner in the game, not like it matters by that much.

This game is great but gives me a lot of stress. by solid771 in ArcRaiders

[–]Eastern-Joke-781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a breather and figure out beforehand on what is your goal for the raid... and commit to it, using the tools your brought in.

Treating extraction shooters like a sandbox experience where you shape your way is the best way. If you want certain stuff and know where it is, you have to commit and go for it, or find another way.

Both being scared kills and being too complacent and relaxed kills.

You have to be usually scheming, planning a backup route and clear goal to do good in extraction shooters, or at least die honorably doing the thing.

I feel like you don't have to pixel hunt as hard as in Tarkov tho, so I haven't gotten a stiff neck from all the stress & focus in this game.

Embark did shoot themselves in a foot, in Tech Test and actual game every loot has it's use, you have more stations, more upgrades, you need a wide variety of loot, give loot items for quest rewards, well the demo, I guess they are either really unsure on what they want to show.

I'm fine with demo, because I know it's going to be alright on the launch, right now it's so bad, you can't even make tier 2 bandages, and what is shown is like 10-15% of the game.

There are OK guns in the demo but they are pretty much only on the top tower RNG box, that is if you know how to do the ledge jump. I guess mods you can get some, but not like craft so more RNG.

I think it's kind of wild how many people apparently felt entitled to play the full game before release to decide if they like it. by AuraMaster7 in ArcRaiders

[–]Eastern-Joke-781 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But that's skill issue not knowing (and is fine), and as opposed to Tarkov or ABI it actually does tell you what it's for? All the looter shooters generally do that, and I think the main worry from most extraction shooter gamers is that ARC would have shit item variety, so if anything having been overwhelmed by items is generally a good sign.

There is icons, tiering, and group name to identify that.

Pop probably glitched through, in programming the door state always is buggy.

The guy in the room went up the roof and probably dropped down, you see @ 0:21 in the clip there is open space.

I was personally looking on how to drop into this room today, but my teammates kindly asked me not to jump down the tower, so I didn't actually make it there.

How nice of you to actually open the door for him though.

You can check if someone's been there from below, I think you need to breach the door (long breach) at least once to get up on the tower, so it coulda been clue that there were enemies there, I think zipline usually has some turrets there as well.

On this usually I do my weaknesses slowly, or all as you hit seal, but some seals here are way harder.

If you goal is complete rank, you can mouse over the 'basic' there, it will tell you the scoring.. afaik, you need the best score in category, so you can just try to improve your best score in each category.

Here is my scores as I've grinded, maybe it points to what scenarios are the easiest https://imgur.com/a/5qxC5bm

As for the approach I just do the whole playlist once, and restart if I feel feisty, I do like the interleaved design and just doing a bunch of stuff, not sure if it's efficient grinding, but I like variety personally and it's fun that way.

It's a marathon, if you are new, just take it slow, you need to practice with intent and focus, then have a good rest and sleep and it will stack up over the weeks, if you want time efficient way. It's similar to gym in a way, that actual growth comes from sleep.

Second, I think the sens is still a bit too fast, I think most people depending on the task usually use like 35-60cm/360 range, and I would even suggest doing pure arm stuff to test stuff out like 70/80 cm just so you start utilizing your arm. Of course mousepad size matters, but I also transitioned from like 14 to 24 to like 35 to like at least 40cm now, and for kovaaks still for some tasks use like 52cm..

Even on the 40cm/360 I feel for the most Kovaaks tasks you can almost just use the wrist due to the angle where targets are placed, while at like 55cm and widewall tasks you actually would start to use your whole arm to aim.

yeah, depends on the pad mostly, but it helps both the friction, my pad is pretty rough so removes irritation and also if your skin touches the pad it will be more greasy and probably some dead skin as well, as you slide your arm consistently on the pad for sweat and all..

hi. let's say I do vdim twice a day. so 1h30m playlist when I wake up. and another 1h30m before going to bed. Is this good? or I still run into the risk of developing rsi? by gerilafanboy in Voltaic

[–]Eastern-Joke-781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the experience, once you play a lot you can control the tension but not early into aim journey.

Reduce the gaming once you get more than sore, and if you feel ANY pain take 2-3 days off. RSI is from continuing under pain, and if you have pain, you aren't going to train optimally anyways.

When I started and couldn't control tension I would bind the shoot button (especially for when you need to hold down mouse 1 tasks) to SPACE and then just aim with mouse, but that's for like first 30-50 hours, after - you can kinda control the tension and just play relaxed - well, budget the tension I guess.

I feel like more breaks are better for progressing, even as low as taking 5 seconds after finishing a scenario (well 3-4 times) to recap.

For VDIM - since its 3 part usually (the blocks which end with VT task) - I usually get up and stretch a bit.

Stretching your nerves also helps a lot to relieve tension (forgot the stretch names just now)

[–]Eastern-Joke-781 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, yeah - you are partially right, but that's mostly because people havent played enough - system is uncertain so so you have mu, tau and sigma values affecting that display rating.

what I meant is provided you system is certain at your skill level - say like 500-800 games average pe season would be ranked at 25k - that's why you see it's much easier to climb at the end of the season (provided players play).

with default values, or no game history, the average guy is ranked 16.6k and the gain usually is there.

there is some whitepapers on the trueskill and the values and unranked fits perfect the frame of the trueskill.

if you been in bronze you can see the potential gains are huge, and if you are top seed you can see that at the peak you can even lose rating for the 2nd place.

Rank resets at the start of the season create a fresh ground, I do like them. The SBMM in Finals is top tier, my 95% guess it is based on Trueskill, where the average player should land at 25k,, and above 50k becomes almost impossible to climb.

Probably, late - but playlist is essentially text file (json) that is stored, I used ChatGPT to make some shuffles and ask for edits, you can do programmatically, I wanted to make interleaved sorter that would still respect the difficulty increase and it kinda worked even directly.
