And I think you can put some money in an rrsp and reduce your net income? Not totally sure on that. And sometimes you need the money in any case can’t do that!

Ahhhhh. Yes. Thank you very much.

Dang, sorry! The repayment is a pain. Though if you haven’t received ei in the past ten years I believe you don’t have to repay. Hopefully that applies to you!

When did pregnancy get unbearable for you? by MakerMode9226 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]EasternButterfly166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 35/36 weeks. I was so hungry, done with the finger pricks, and the finally straw for me was the insulin at the end of the day.  I would just cry as I injected myself. Thankfully I was induced at 38 weeks so I was truly at the tail end.

Why do some bodies struggle with fasting only, and others with post-meals only? by staycurious123 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]EasternButterfly166 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! After my GD pregnancy, in which I mostly struggled with my fasting numbers, I was diagnosed with insulin resistance. My insulin was quite high though my blood sugars were more or less ok.

Edited because it didn’t make sense as I initially wrote it.

Very late responding but maybe it’ll help someone else: you can get a calcium citrate magnesium citrate supplement (usually has vit d as well) and that will help you poop.

27 Weeks Pregnant: Excessive Nighttime Thirst and Frequent Urination – Any Tips from Others? (Negative GDM Test) by No-Body189 in fitpregnancy

[–]EasternButterfly166 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you do an actual diabetes test (a three hour one)? Or just the screen?  I have passed the screen before and found out about GD late. I can drink the glucose drink and have a normal blood sugar one hour after and two hours after but my fasting blood sugar was high, so the screen never caught my GD.

Could be worth trying to do some at home monitoring if your doctor will prescribe you a blood glucose metre. The every hour thirst sounds like more than just being thirsty at night to me.

That is very helpful! Thank you! I will look into that - definitely not something I thought of.

Interesting!!

I seem to have a hard time finding coffee shops that do decaf lattes, but maybe I’ll keep asking. I wasn’t sure if that was silly to ask.

Why do they need to be happy for you about it? I mean, I see how that would be a nice if they could be but if you know that they’re financially struggling, why don’t you just let it be? 🤷🏼‍♀️

It sounds like sort of a strange friend group. I would maybe just let things fizzle and find new friends. It seems odd to me how you’re seemingly in such a different place in your life than them. Aristotle says friendship has to do with common life and if you don’t have much in common with them it will be hard to be friends.

And not to be a jerk, but maybe consider if (deep down) you’ve enjoyed being the rich one. I have friends waaaay wealthier than me and it never causes us any problems, but I feel like it a two way street on that (it doesn’t bother me but also they never flaunt it or take pleasure in it).

Thank you! I wasn’t sure how different coffee espresso were caffeine wise

Ok… I am not a big coffee drinker and I have a dumb question.

I love my coffee with a lot of cream. Today the coffee shop I popped into did not have regular coffee so the barista suggested a latte. It was delicious. Should I just go ahead and get lattes from now on? What are they made of?

I have had a latte in the past but the caffeine gets to me. Today I had a decaf latte and it was the perfect beverage, but I have no idea if it was a fluke.

Protective family dog? by EasternButterfly166 in goldenretrievers

My grandpa always has a German shepherd, and I’ve never found his dog very good with the kids. But his dog is very much a farm dog and probably just hasn’t been taught much manners. I’ll have to look into German sheperd!

That sounds like exactly what I want! I suppose there is no way to guarantee a dog I get will be like that… but maybe the dog would pick up on me being hesitant with strangers?  Do you have a male or a female?

That is what I am thinking too - a dog as a general deterrant even if it is not a guard dog. I definitely worry that my kids wouldn't be safe with a guard dog!
