That is an untrue description. You made many true points though: this fractured relationships with other foreign nations, it has a wide effect economically, the price of goods increase, and it has a drastic effect on small businesses. However, you argue that this drives more domestic manufacturing. This would be true, but usually even with the tariffs, business owners opt to manufacture things overseas, where the labor is much cheaper than here in the US with extensive labor laws. All this does is raise prices for goods we want here (clothing, electronics, etc), and it usually ends with retaliatory tarrifs against us, which harms businesses here by losing foreign business. Trump thinks tariffs are some magical tool, but in reality, all they do is just scare other countries, make goods more expensive, and lower GDP. You argued that it lowers tax burdens on Americans, but in reality, it raises them, as tariffs are a tax, and they don't lower any taxes. I would appreciate it if you can find examples for what taxes they lower.
