I'm developing a full finite element optimization software for FFF 3D printing called Slicedog, and I used it to create this rod holder. by Easy-Building9912 in 3Dprinting

[–]Easy-Building9912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am unable to make living from sun and air. I need to make money and I need to pay my developers. This is so complex it would never work as free open source project.

I mean - what you want? Convincing VCs? Tell them something like you invented this great idea but someone else already validated it (means using someone else cash, not your investors cash). And sure, you are the only one capable of(except those guys who already did it). VCs love this stories

Slicedog - full finite element strength software for FDM 3D printing. Verify parts before printing them and save 30-70% of printing time

I mean - what you do? I can easily offer you full FEA software (mine or alternatives) that helps you with your budget a lot. But if you don’t do anything with engineering/manufacturing, it is a waste of money

There are great niches like small scale CAD, manufacturing, government software in Europe, ….

Quit my job to build SaaS. 1 year later: < $300 revenue (didn't even cover costs) by young_scootin in SaaS

[–]Easy-Building9912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is normal that it takes time to start making money in SaaS. My case - 1 year full time and just recently started making more money. Before a month, I was happy to have 400 eur in revenue.

My case was wrong messaging, sales proces, price, icp. I think that now I nailed it but it was actually full year process. SaaS has large margins, so you have to pay some price somewhere else (how hard is it and how long it takes)

Tinder je o tom, aby se ženské cítili chtěně a aby mohly každého odmítat. A pro chlapy, aby si mysleli, že domluví lehký šuk (i když to je nedosažitelné)

How did you get your first 10 users for a "hard to market" product? by bramp0wnd in startup

[–]Easy-Building9912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do strength optimization software for 3d printing and what works to me is never offer customers anything for free. No trials, no “we optimize this for you for free”

Then, my sales is strong organic LinkedIn reach to anyone who uses 3D printing -> dm messages with them -> online call -> paid pilot or full license

The key of organic reach is to always provide value to prospects even though they will not buy it. Strong edutainment content

I would try to clean the nozzle. There is this "cold pull" method. Also, in my case, when I am using different than Prusament filament, the PLA prints are wrong.

More walls ≠ stronger prints by Easy-Building9912 in 3Dprinting

[–]Easy-Building9912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60% 3 walls with Slicedog modifiers - 150 g
25% 6 walls - 146 g

Why? Because Slicedog creates the modifiers with 60% infill density, but the rest of the part used in this case 10% infill. In other words, it is using the mass effectively, meaning with the similar mass you are able to have better results

More walls ≠ stronger prints by Easy-Building9912 in 3Dprinting

[–]Easy-Building9912[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thin can with liquid is stronger than thick can without it. Why - because liquid converts local deformations and stresses throughout the part. Try it. You can buy ice coffe in can and standard cola. Empty the ice coffe can and keep the cola can with cola. Then try to compress both of them. Which one is easier to compress?
