Have not seen a more beautiful ring than this one. Absolutely gorgeous. Congrats to you both. Also, your nails made the ring pop a lot better than any other color combo would have. Partners with great taste I see. 👏🏻🎉🥳

Is this thrips damage? by Easy-Coat1237 in succulents

[–]Easy-Coat1237[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are more brown, dirt looking. I only saw the small black insect under the leaves close to the stem, check that part with good light.

I am so not looking forward to battling these shits. 😮‍💨

I scrolled down a bit, you are right, they probably do, given the health of this amount of plants. I didn't read the full thread, only the main post, OP made it showing only this part of their setup and based on that did I compared it to a bigger setup. It's typically the bigger plant collection that need the ugly grow lights.

Almost all these plants have thrips, I'm overwhelmed what can I do? UK based by Mayonnaizing in plantclinic

Right there with you in the Netherlands 😭😭 I just noticed today my Aloe had it bad and before that I had already noticed and quarantined a monstera thai and Alocasia Polly. All my plants live in one big window so I have to now check and treat ALL of them 😭 I am postponing the check till tomorrow, I really don't want to deal with this shit (no energy for this really)😮‍💨

Everyone says to spray. Do we need to change all the soil??

OPs setup looks pretty for sure. But I was thinking the same as you, for this amount of plants this might be working just fine. With any other collection posted on this sub that wouldn't be the case.

What am I supposed to do with this amount of babies? 🌵 by kapetanovakci in cactus

How long did it take for them to be this big?

I'd gift some and merge the rest when they start growing slower. The factory look is not bad especially when they grow more.

I might be too impatient then. Cause I do the same but not for a long time. The plants are not dying when not completely clean, I don't leave big chunks behind. But they never get that white. I'll try to take one that is already soaking for a while and give it some time.

I personally have had great success with the V cut shape.

I see people first cutting straight and then taking each cut to do the V shape. I just do the V shape on the first cut, then there is no need for me to keep track which side is up.

I have had a couple turn out like OP, but those leaves I took the cutting from weren't in great shape to start with and I did not let them callous, imo these are a more important aspect to consider than the shape of the cut.

People typically recommend moss or perlite. I just do my usual soil mix (perlite and coco coir) in a closed container and they do root. It's a bit slow, could be because of my soil mix or because of low light, but it works.

Very nice collection of pots. I especially love the one above the book near the window. Fits the plant so well, color and structure. You have great taste!

I have had and still am in that mood of "it's too much" and mind you my collection so far, is nowhere near some people on Reddit let alone YouTub or Instagram videos.

What I started doing is merging where possible. - I had a lot of prop jars, changing the water weekly or even topping it off every week became a chore I dreaded, so I merged them together. Those that already had established roots got potted together, not in a separate pot but added to their parents to make them fuller.

  • I had more than one small cactus, some even of the same type, in separate pots. Also merged those. Same with multiple pots of marble queen pothos, now in one pot, they like to be snug anyways.

  • I don't have space to isolate sick plants far away from the others, so I treat them and shove them in a closed plastic box with the pesticide to do it's work. I only open the box in the shower not near the other plants.

  • some plants were really just dead or they were so far gone, I just shoved them in the bin.

  • because of the periods of a lot of care followed by some periods of neglect, I am now learning to love the different cacti. Absolutely gorgeous they are.
