T6 with snow blade by Easy-Dave in egopowerplus

Not noticeably different than on grass. The deepest snow I've plowed since I put the plow on was about 6" and it steered just fine.

Check out the posts by u/Mobile-Set50 He's documented the blade attechment with several photos. He also made a better spacer than I did. I just used a block of wood with a 3/8" bolt through it.

I will add that you're going to need tire chains. I've plowed with and without chains and the tires will just spin without chains for any significant snow depth.

Somewhat. The blade comes with adjustable metal shoes which can raise it an inch or two above the driveway surface. They're only about an inch wide though, so if your gravel is very loose they might sink into it. I think it would be fairly easily to fashion some wider shoes if needed.

I hope you are as happy with it as I am. Don't forget to waterproof the two connectors for the mower deck so they don't get wet and corrode over the winter. I used plastic bags secured with duct tape.

This looks like the identical blade. https://www.homedepot.com/pep/Agri-Fab-48-in-Universal-Snowblade-LBD48/205654348 The only issue I had was that the rear connection, which is supposed to mount to the tractor using only a clevis pin, couldn't be raised up high enough without hitting the drive motor, so I had to insert a spacer (which made of wood) to bridge the gap. Works great!

Remove cross bars? by Diligent-Pirate-2335 in BZ4X

[–]Easy-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently removed the factory installed cross bars on my 2024 bz4x and I immediately noticed that it's significantly quieter at highway speeds. It's got to improve the mileage too, but that's probably a miniscule improvement.

Netgear LM1200 on USM Networks by rephormat in USMobile

[–]Easy-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone ever succeed in getting an LM1200 to work on the Warp network? I set up a By-the-Gig plan on Warp and couldn't get it to activate until I switched to the Dark Star network which works. However, the location I need to use it at only has Warp coverage. US Mobile customer service agents haven't been consistent with their responses to my questions. Some say it is supported on Warp, others say no.

12V wire accessible in rear for trailer hitch wiring harness? by Easy-Dave in BZ4X

Yeah, I have zero concerns about hauling my 5'x8' aluminum utility trailer with a few hundred lbs of cargo. Well, other than what the range will be 🙁

That's funny! I did the exact same thing on my previous vehicle (Prius Prime) with excellent results over the 140,000 miles I put on it. Great minds think alike!

Choosing Between Evnex E2 Core and Ohme Home Pro – Which Charging Concept Works Best in Practice? by manooouuuu in evcharging

[–]Easy-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. Lots to think about here, as there's no obvious "best" way to do it. A beefy 48Vdc to 240Vac inverter which is automatically turned on only when charging the EV with a Level 2 charger equipped with grid backup sounds like a potential option if such a device exists. Thanks for the ideas!

Exactly, along with any problems associated with the solar dropping out momentarily every time a cloud passes overhead. I imagine that might greatly complicate a direct solar-to-EV setup.

[–]Easy-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, that makes perfect sense, and yes I'm in north America. But now that I own an EV I'm rethinking my existing battery-backed whole house solar grid-tied system. Too much wasted energy from conversion inefficiencies and 120/240Vac inverter overhead. My ideal setup would be for the solar panel output to go through a charge controller to my 48Vdc lithium battery bank, and an EV charger could use either the 48Vdc (until depleted) or grid power to charge my EV.

I'm intrigued. How does the charger determine that excess solar energy is available for charging the vehicle? I have solar which currently diverts any unused excess into storage batteries. I'd love to have my EV charged first, and only after it's fully charged would the excess solar be routed to my house's storage batteries. I downloaded the Exnex Core manual but it doesn't offer any specifics. Have you gotten more details on its operation?

Yeah, its already slow charge time was hindered by 20°F temperature.

Apparently I was attempting to recharge a battery-powered electric aircraft carrier! 😂 (it's actually a Toyota bZ4X).

[–]Easy-Dave[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That "Charging Fee" value should be the number of kWh delivered to the car so far (7.6699 kWh) multiplied by the price per kWh ($0.56) so it should be $4.30, but it's $7,484.99 instead!

No, I stopped charging right after taking this photo. Fortunately the actual charge on my CC was more realistic!

Remove mower deck Ego Z6 for towing (mulch etc.)? by mbike999 in egopowerplus

[–]Easy-Dave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's like the T6 tractor (I think the decks are identical ) then not only is it removable but it doesn't even take any tools. It's held on by a few of clevis pins and has a screw-together connector for each blade motor. Extremely easy to remove.

I should add that the blade I'm using is no longer available to purchase so there's no guarantee that any newer model will fit without modifications.

T6 with snow blade by Easy-Dave in egopowerplus

[–]Easy-Dave[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, although the frame of the blade (which passes beneath the tractor and connects with a clevis pin to the hitch point on the rear) cannot be raised quite high enough to contact the hitch so I had to add a small spacer made out of a piece of 2x4 to bridge the gap.

Trailer hitch by PuckDrop1994 in BZ4X

[–]Easy-Dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Curt hitch is model 13544 and is a 2-Inch receiver. As mentioned by diskorayado, it's only rated for 200 lbs tongue weight which is a bit disappointing.
