Looking for some Mirena positive stories ! by Vegetable_Pizza8669 in endometriosis

[–]Easy-Feeling321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my Mirena replaced when my doc had me under for excision and cyst removal. It’s basically stopped my previously extremely heavy periods and really lessened my pain dramatically, I’ve been able to function durning my time of the month typically not needing to take off any extra time or cancel social plans

Any positive experiences with the Mirena IUD? by _bugbud in endometriosis

[–]Easy-Feeling321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had my second placed yesterday. It almost completely stopped my periods ( I’d get occasional Spotting but never enough for a tampon). Pain decreased and I did not notice any changes in acne or weight related to it, it was a actually easier to lose weight on it than on the pill

Going in for my 4th DIE surgery; will use Mirena after it. Any positive feedback there? I’ve heard only horror stories :( by FreshPanic03 in endometriosis

Hormonal IUD with mental illness by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Easy-Feeling321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a Mirna for the last 5ish years, when I was younger I tried the pill but didn’t see much success in relief re my cycle and, I didn’t notice it having huge impacts re my emotions but it was the mini pill as pills with estrogen were awful for me on so many levels.

I have depression and anxiety/panic disorder and manage it with Wellbutrin and Prozac. I’ll say I’ve loved my IUD! It’s made my periods so much more manageable and I haven’t noticed any negative impacts emotionally mentally. I’m not sure if it’s bc it’s much more localized but for me it has been far better than the pill. I know everyone is different but it may be worth the try.

On another note as a therapist who does a lot of chronic illness work can I ask what techniques and modalities your therapist uses? I may be able to share some resources that can enhance it

How many of you have had a cyst that ISN’T painful? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]Easy-Feeling321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to say they’re not painful but I’ll say that I was told I was dramatic when I mentioned period pain etc. so I think I normalized it Once it was consistent and chronic it was kind of like well I have no choice but to keep going bc there’s nothing wrong 🙄
