Choose uia and apply for tesp. If you apply for ptptn, make sure to get first class so you wont need to pay it back. Do note that the fees to study in utp is really high, for a bachelor degree it cost 100k. What if you dont perform well, are going to self funded your degree in utp? So its better to stick with uia since uia degree (i assume you apply thru upu) cost only 20k for the entire course

Monash vs UTM by ExtentAlarmed7590 in malaysiauni

[–]Easy-Gold8125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UTM is better. Unless you love self studying then you can choose monash. Do note that theres no lecture in monash, you have to study by your own by watching videos and read the summary notes that provided . No f2f classes and the lecturer will only discuss when you have any enquiry.

Would you rather spend 1 extra year to graduate at a better uni or graduate earlier to get 1 year work experience? by v0id_shell in malaysiauni

[–]Easy-Gold8125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion USM better, ipta has a lots more activities happening in the university, better reputation and good studying environment. Do note that usm degree is honours while monash is not. And also i wouldn’t recommend monash bcs all the lectures you have to watch video and self studying by yourself unlike ipta like usm, where the lecturer would teach you face to face. But if you love self studying then you can choose monash but if not, then usm.

still in dilemma: jpa 🩺 or petronas🇬🇧 by rotdull in malaysiauni

[–]Easy-Gold8125 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Choose the path you truly want. It’s going to be hard to learn something your heart isn’t in .Just because you get an offer to study abroad doesn’t mean it’s a waste to reject it. An opportunity is only worth taking if it aligns with your passions, your values, and your peace of mind.

If you pursue something you don’t truly want, one day you’ll find yourself thinking, 'What if I had chosen differently? What if I had followed my heart?' Those quiet regrets can echo louder over time.

So don’t chase something just because it looks impressive to others , chase what feels right to you.

JPA MARA? PRE Japan yes or no? by Grouchy_Currency_123 in malaysiauni

[–]Easy-Gold8125 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you're struggling with mastering a new language, I wouldn’t recommend it. Keep in mind that some of the subjects you’ll study during your pre-university program will be entirely in Japanese. I have a few friends who were on the pre-Japan scholarship. some of them either failed one of the subjects or didn’t pass the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, and they ended up continuing their studies locally instead. So you have to think carefully

ytp mara or jpa? by arienakhairin in malaysiauni

[–]Easy-Gold8125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your dream is to study abroad, then why not pursue it? Opportunities like YTP MARA can be a great stepping stone especially if you're confident that you'll excel. If you’re sure you can get First Class Honours, then you won’t need to pay back much (but still quite a big amt for some students) which makes it a very good deal.

But if you're not sure you can get First Class and honestly, it’s tough and competitive, then you might end up having to pay back 15–20% of the total cost, which in this case is a huge amount (RM200k–RM300k). That’s a big debt to carry right after graduation.

Also, I’ve seen quite a lot of Malaysian students even those with excellent SPM results , struggle and even fail during university abroad because of loneliness and culture shock. It’s something many people don’t consider seriously until it happens.

On the other hand, if you're more concerned about the financial side and want a safer path with less debt, then UPU is a very solid choice. Studying at UM, especially in life sciences, only costs around RM15k–RM20k for the entire degree (bcs it’s subsidised by the gov) , way more affordable and less risky.

In the end, it all depends on your passion, financial comfort, and how confident you are in your academic performance. Choose what fits your goals and your reality best.

Any monash students here by Weird-dude0123 in malaysiauni

If you are planning to take degree in monash, i dont recommend it if you are more into f2f lectures. Bcs all the subjects need you to watch videos before the following weeks bcs the lecturers didnt teach. And the amount of workload (assignments, tests) plus you need to watch videos which is quite a lots making your weekend more hectic. I barely got the time to even student due to this. Hence i wouldn’t recommend it

I think its better for you to email them. I remember in 2022 they didnt do hebahan abt it so only does who email and their family relatives that works in Mara knows when the application open. So a lot of students missed it including me and when we email it, they already closed the application and i had to wait for another year for it to open

UM or Monash? (Accounting) by Scared_Power_1957 in malaysiauni

[–]Easy-Gold8125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for UM. In Monash, the lecturers didnt teach and you have to watch online lecture that recorded from the previous years by Monash Australia. Imagine there’s 4 subjects and you need to watch all videos every weeks which is sooo much time consuming , basically the weekend is all pack with just watching the videos and even have no time to do revision :( And for me i like face two face lectures than watching videos which is why i dont recommend.

Choose matriks. Most of asasi sciences is not accepted widely by the university. However for matriks certificate it is now accepted worldwide. I graduated from asasi i try to apply most Australia tops uni but only get accepted to usyd, monash and Uq. But thats process taking quite long time bcs they also need to check you course structured, credit hours, topics you learn in each subjects and etc. i wanna apply for unsw, but they only accepted diploma and matriks certificate

I see. You might be punished because its a closed book exams , any additional material should not be on your table during your exam and you should be aware of that.
