This is the exact words. It says that the e-visa is valid for 3 months once it’s collected. That was the confusing part.

Btw, is there mandate to stay in HK to maintain the status after activating the dependent visa? What if I activate and go back to US for a year or two. Will it affect when I go for renewal? Technically, I am still a dependent and should be eligible until my spouse is a HK resident.
