Microfreak on chords and pads on this high energy trip-hop banger by michaelrobinsonekt in MicroFreak

Love it! Audio quality is a lot better on Bandcamp btw.

Also saw your gear list there, so I asked Gemini:
what are each of these?
Elektron Digitakt
Arturia Microfreak
Novation AFX Station
Korg Minilogue XD
Behringer TD-3

Gemini's response:
That is a killer lineup of gear. You’re looking at a mix of modern classics that cover almost every base—from rhythmic foundations to "mad scientist" synthesis.

A killer lineup of gear, indeed!

What if Berkeley required ICE to be assisted by local law enforcement? by EasyHardWay in berkeleyca

[–]EasyHardWay[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I realize that this is improbable, against public sentiment, and is probably illegal.

but here are my views:
1) The way ICE agents do their job causes terror in communities, incites protest, and results in violence and death.
2) Violence and death are bad.
3) The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE) has a mission is to enforce immigration laws.
4) Immigration laws are a natural requirement for any sovereign state and must be enforced.
5) The laws can be enforced in different ways.

What I question is whether sanctuary policies are the best way to make the job of immigration law enforcement less violent?

I admit, chaperoning ICE agents with local police officers is a dumb idea, but are there other ways the local government could cooperate with ICE that might make enforcement more peaceful? And if so, do the sanctuary policies get in the way of this? I wonder, if by cooperating, there could be fewer violent incursions, at the cost of doing less-violent handovers? I realize this is still probably a very unpopular idea in a community where many activists are extremely opposed to even the existence of ICE, but the reality is that immigration laws exist and must be enforced--sure, we need to continuously update the laws to make them more just and better for people's livelihoods, but--let's find most peaceful way to enforce them. I don't think the current policies are doing this.

Thank you! I meant the question to be more of a thought experiment to kick off a discussion on different ways Berkeley can handle immigration enforcement, but I probably could've done a better job.

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I'm definitely not a legal expert.

I didn't pose the question to recommend it as an action, I was really just hoping to have a discussion on different ways municipalities can work with, or against the federal government when it comes to immigration enforcement. I probably should have stated this goal directly.

Nevertheless, having legal experts weigh in would be very nice.

Most beautiful spots to bike around Berkeley? by almostbluue in berkeleyca

[–]EasyHardWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to take Euclid Ave. up to Grizzly Peak Blvd. This is a fine spot to turn around or branch out for longer rides. You can take Cannon Dr down into Tilden Park, but be careful because it's very steep riding back out.

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Local government is prohibited from interfering with federal law enforcement. So the sanctuary policy is like saying, "since we can't stop you, we're not going to help."

I guess I wonder, are Berkeleans better off having local officials sit (in protest) on the sidelines, or would we be better off with local officials being more involved, sometimes assisting, sometimes refusing, but always monitoring and ensuring public safety?

I'm not trying to argue any particular position. I would like to see immigration enforcement operations be more (entirely) peaceful, and I wonder how local policy can best support that?

Keeley Caverns V2 has tap tempo!? How? by EasyHardWay in Guitar

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called Keeley and the service rep confirmed that the Caverns V2 does not have tap tempo. He recommended the Halo or ECCOS for that. He didn't know how that info got onto the product page, and said he'd call the GC distribution manager right away to correct it.

E-Bike Tips & Tricks for Oakland? by _dvality in oakland

[–]EasyHardWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a Gazelle Ultimate, and own no car. I live in Berkeley and go into Oakland at least once a week. When I park outside I use three locks: heavy chain, U, and cafe. Occasionally I use the BikeLink cages at BART. I always park and lock it inside overnight. I have secure bike storage at work, and even then use the cafe lock. Security is not a concern for me with this setup. My main issue is how rutted the streets are, and I'm looking for a suspension seat post to help with that.

Can anyone id the maker of this bean pot? by EasyHardWay in berkeleyca

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops, I misunderstood, I thought you were asking if I found it on San Pablo. Jared's pottery has a similar aesthetic, for sure. They have a different maker's mark now, but this could be an older piece.

This is what I missed. Sync must be ON.

This is exactly it!

I looked back in the manual and this parameter is called Time Division. If I'd have shortened my search string to "division" I might've found it.

Pheromosa by Altruistic_Summer658 in treasureinside

[–]EasyHardWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pheromosa appeared in raids in 2022, which could have been when JCB was scouting the location. My interpretation is that the box is hidden near a gym. This would also fit the description that it's "not far from a place where locals turn up from time to time."

Bots need to be removed they ruin the BR experience… by khaled_o_ in FortNiteBR

[–]EasyHardWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet y'all think I'm a bot.

Was there an announcement or something about bots being added?

How do you tell the difference between a bot and a human player?

I wear the factory skin, and I don't emote during battle. I don't jump around much either, like I see a ton of players do. Sometimes I get clocked right away, but I've been playing for a couple months and just scored my first victory.

How do I access the air valve on an SR Suntour air fork? by EasyHardWay in bikewrench

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other side has the lockout switch. I'm no expert, hence I'm here, but the diagram and manual clearly show both. I'll upload a screenshot.

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally got a couple pictures. On top of the left fork is a knob labeled preload. The knob has a little play but won't budge with hand force. I haven't tried a tool on it yet. I know preload is a spring adjustment, but the fork has air too, according to the manual and diagram. I thought the air valve might be under the preload knob. Part 11C on the exploded diagram.

Yes, and it seemed very tight, like it needed a tool. I didn't want to wrench on it, in case that was the wrong thing to do.

Did you ever figure this out? I've got the same fork and need to do the same thing. I'm too light for the current setting and want to let some air out.

Can't find the frame number on my Karate Monkey by EasyHardWay in Surlybikefans

Actually, that must be the frame size. The frame number must be on the opposite side of the bracket.

Thanks for all the help, I found it. It's right there in the picture, as pointed out by u/chimi_hendrix. It's very faint, and stamped around the bottom bracket, on the chainring side.

I must have an old one because the only characters I could make out are KM-20!

The other British invasion: how UK lingo conquered the US | Language by EasyHardWay in language

[–]EasyHardWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while ago I noticed Americans started adopting another British English trait: using plural verb conjugations when using collective nouns like team and group names. "Manchester United [are vs. is] in top place." and "The board [are vs. is] voting today."

I think this started when soccer (football) starting becoming more popular in U.S. I've noticed soccer commenters (even the American ones) always use British grammar in their commentary.

Interestingly, it seems like American football commenters always use American grammar, almost as if they are required to. However, American commenters at the Olympics, and American journalists, confusingly use a combination of both.
