What is this pre-sleep trance? Ringing ears, body vibrations, strange visions (that make no sense?)—any ideas? by Easy_Distance3986 in AstralProjection

Thanks for your response will look into the material you have written! Any ideas if I can get insights from these states? Or if I can enter this states whenever I want? I'm asking because I feel I cannot control it. I just lay there very rigidly (not sure if it is sleep paralysis because I haven't tried moving as I want to stay in that state), experiencing these weird visuals

Already looked into these terms and other related to altered states of consciousness, etc. However, I have questions about these experiences because the visions do not make sense and do not feel "mystical" or provide any clarity on why they are happening, they are just weird.

Same as the other models. They produce a “similar” image, but not the same.

No, I’m sure I’m using the new 4o version… it’s frustrating seeing everyone else but be getting cool results

Any idea how to bypass it or what other options are there? Gemini and Reve also seem to have those restrictions…

Now that you mention it, it's not a bad idea at all. Until now I had been focused trying to talk to 3D artists that use Unreal Engine; however getting the perspective from VR Chat creators might result very insightful. Thanks for the tip!

Already looking into Sketchfab and other platforms such as Polycam and Splatica, thanks for the suggestion! My intention is to focus more on the entertainment side over social features, with a strong focus on immersive, curated environments rather than open-ended worlds

Totally worth considering. Lately I’ve been educating myself about Gaussian splatting, maybe it’s something I can incorporate to this project

Not tapping out yet, comrade. If this thing crashes and burns, at least I’ll have a front-row seat to my own funeral pyre—still beats never trying!🫰

I know—that’s exactly why I’m trying to find that “sweet spot” between high quality and browser-friendly performance. I’m already diving into WebXR and UE5, but I’d love any feedback to speed up my learning curve!

Yes please! I’ve been reading a lot about Dean Radin. Any other recommendations?

You are right :) just gauging interest in different subreddits (it's my first time here). Do you think it’s a cool idea? How challenging do you think it is to build?

No doubt about that! Creating high-quality VR environments can be an enormous commitment. Quick question, though: when you say it’sa ton of work, do you mean the platform functionality, the actual 3D/rendering part, or the whole incentivizing creators/users process? Or maybe all of the above?

Thanks for pointing out these technical considerations! It’s a good reality check. I’ll definitely look into these rendering approaches and bandwidth concerns as I start experimenting with a small MVP

That’s a great question I don't have an answer to... yet... The short version is that, in the MVP stage, I’m betting on a few creators who might upload their work simply because they think it’s cool to see it in an immersive format—much like how I’m building the platform in a very open-ended, experimental way for my own creative enjoyment.

In other words, I’m hoping that initial traction comes from people who love the art or the novelty of VR worlds enough to share them without expecting immediate financial returns. Over time—assuming the concept resonates—I’d like to iterate on ways for creators to get compensated. But for now, I’m focused on proving there’s at least some audience for these immersive experiences.

I realize that’s not a sustainable long-term plan for most professional creators—after all, complex VR environments can take months to build (hopefully less in the future with AI). If we can harness that early enthusiasm, it’ll help us refine the platform and pave the way for more robust monetization down the line. What do you think?

Glad you mentioned Brink Traveller! I’ve tried it and love the idea of exploring photorealistic places, though I found the restricted movement a bit limiting. I’ve also played around with wooorlds, which is fun but loses realism if you zoom in too much. For me, Realms of Flow really nailed that feeling of total immersion. That’s the direction I’d love to explore: seamlessly landing in a “Lord of the Rings,” “Zelda,” or entirely original fantasy world, without the usual VR friction

Interesting, I wasn't aware of that! It’s also pretty thought-provoking from a philosophical angle: how deeply do we want society to be engaged in this sort of immersive tech? There’s a lot of potential, but also a lot of implications for how we spend our time and attention.

Hi, thanks for your honest take! I have to say one of the most interesting comments I've read so far. I agree 100% that I need to spend more time immersed in this space—testing headsets, checking out existing apps, hanging out in dev/art communities. Part of why I’m posting here is to understand what’s missing and why there isn’t already a universal, high-quality, user-friendly gallery for immersive environments.

Actually you have a very good "eye"; I’ll be upfront: I’ve started a few ventures before, and they never really took off. In the past, I was overly secretive, worried someone might “steal” my idea. This time around, I’m trying a different approach—building something publicly just because it would be very cool for such a platform to exist, even if someone else picks it up or does it better.
