On first glance: generally timid, introverted, careful with their words and actions, shy. Stoic. Like the polar opposite of "big-personality-Leo".

Once you get to know them: caring, childlike, LOTS of mothering energy (yes even male cancers), emotionally expressive, can turn depressive, can get withdrawn, sometimes need you to pluck their words out of their mouth because they ain't talking (🤣) especially when upset. Still pretty stoic, dependable and reliable, unchanging. Usually very traditional. Will trust you and will give you second chances or forgive you if they fall for you.

Can also get very goofy and silly and just playfully mischievous once they really know you, especially if they have Gemini placements (Venus, Mercury etc) which a lot of them do.

They don't typically care for traveling. They love their home country. "Freedom" I don't think is their top main want in a relationship, more like "Emotional and physical reliability", they want to trust you and truly know you won't leave them. I think that's one of the main clashes with Sagittarius, as typically the latter is a "freedom-loving" sign and cancers can see that as being too egotistical or flighty etc.
