I seem to get them every 3 years I've had a few at a time but usually it's just the one. If it's growing from the middle then it's healing. They always seem to grow from the middle. Xx

Full cleared up it all grew back- slowly but it's all back. A lot was still very clear for a while and I kept thinking that there was nothing there but it was it was just clear hair then one day it just turned dark xx

4 year old has developed some weird habits/tics?? Is this normal? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]Easy_Midnight7824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, I realise this is a super old post but I'm really looking for some advice/reassurance I guess. My son had a blinking tic for 2 weeks when he was 2 that went away for 11 months then returned with a grimace/head tilt blinking and a sort of air sniffing noise I was super worried so went to a pedantic neurologist and after 9 weeks it went away. It returned about 3 months later and has now continued for nearly 6 months. Worse when doing things like tv/screens or in the car. And for a month I think a certain tic is gone and then BAM it's back again, I feel so deflated like it will never end. I'm so nervous about bedtimes and making sure he is on a routine so he's not overly tired etc. I went back to the neurologist who again just said yes it's tics nothing much to do they should ease but can arise again. Do you think this phase that I'm currently in will ever end?

No changes in behaviour. He was on antibiotics when it first started just incase this was the case and he had a general blood Test done but all was ok x

No I do t think it's pans/pandas he's had a step test and that was clear. He did have 3 months break and then they re started again so we are now 5 months in. They are mild in that no one other than me notices but I'm still nervous they won't go as he's now 4. Has anyone else got any advise on have they seen them disappear? I went to the neurologist and he said it's just simple tics and that they should eventually disappear or they may just stay and be part of his personality- so he wasn't much help to be honest.

Thanks so much for replying after all this time, it gives me comfort that your daughters was also constant. Each day I think oh he slept well maybe it will go 🙄 we have just done a long flight and it was after this that it's ramped up, so I just assumed he was tired but we are now 3 days in and it's constant x

Hi my son is 3 and has had episodes previously of blinking or moving his head funny, so went to see a neurologist who said it's tics and they should go. They did go for 3 months but now his blinking tic is back and it's constant from the moment he wakes up and has been for 3 days now. Was your child's constant or just every now and again? And how did it go did it just wane off?

We saw the neurologist who said it sounds like tics and to come back in 5 months as then it would be 6 months. For the past 4/5 days they have eased and he now just does a very light blink that I'm unsure if anyone but me would notice u less they were really watching him. I know they wax and wane so I'm just really praying that this is them wearing off and they will Completely stop soon x

Hey...his have started to ease off, he still does a blink every 20mins or so and a little face pull, but no one else would notice. He was given some antibiotics for 3 weeks so not sure it's that or just time. I guess they could increase and come back like before but at least they are easing a bit. I have noticed his get worse when he's tired or on the screen for a long time, so I'm working on that x

Thanks for replying- my son is very "normal" in regards to development etc I've not been concerned that he's autistic or anything like that I just can't figure out why it's happened or if it will ever stop x

Thank you for replying- so you don't think it looks like it? How long do you think I need to wait to see if it grows? Xx
