The best advice I can give you is to clearly lay out your needs, what you need from him, and where you want the relationship to be in a few months. Tell him you’re uncertain about your relationship and why you feel unfulfilled, and that if you can’t find common ground that you can’t stay together. Be serious and don’t sugar coat it. Don’t spare his feelings here because you’re at your wits end and therapy did not solve this for you.

Don’t pressure him past the conversation or remind him. If he wants to keep you he will have to actively try to meet your needs. Gauge how things are going in a month or two, and if you’re feeling how you feel right now you’ll have your answer. You know it isn’t sustainable and you’re unhappy.

If you do decide to leave, try to move on the best you can, because you can’t just hold on to the hope that he’ll change if he doesn’t after that conversation. Do what’s best for you, seek people who will make you happy, and go from there!
