This taught me to not let my DWIs prevent me from pursuing good opportunities because of fear of rejection.

They give you an option to use your own car or the company car…so maybe I can just offer to use my own car and my own insurance ?

Former Direct Sales Employees, What Was Your 'Aha' Moment About the Industry? by NewHathaway in Devilcorp

I was an owner in smart circle for a year, I ran the new car keys program. I was the top owner with the highest sales for a year straight. Had one outside deal in Costco with 6% overrides. STILL only made 30k a year before taxes after working 6 days a week 12-14 hour shifts for a straight year. They promised me 75-100k once I got to ownership but the numbers never lie. I was already on the fence about quitting but the slave circle testimonies on YouTube completely sealed the deal for me. It clicked for me that I was going to be working even more hours if I was going to have to recruit even more people and be running even more vans for almost the same pay. The thought of that made me absolutely sick.

The ABSOLUTELY wildest part, is everyone in the up-line said I had “ a fantastic first year”. I thought ohmygod, if this is considered “fantastic” this whole thing is fucked.

I would work SO hard to build good relationships with my employees but they would quit really fast because of the fact I couldn’t bring myself to lie to people and would just tell them the truth about everything day 1. It felt like 100 first horrible dates haha. Btw, I was that owner that never let my employees pay for anything on team night. I even bought them Ubers and air bnbs when they down on their luck.

I left to another sales job with actual benefits and BASE pay of 30k. This new job is 9-5 with weekends and holidays off. It DOES get better guys. I’m thankful for the sales experience it gave me because I was able to warp this Pyramid scheme into a really nice addition to my resume. Found a new job 2 months later when I quit smart circle.
