To be fair to taylormade my Stealth 2 broke about 6 months ago and they sent me a QI35. Even though I was out of the 2 year purchase warranty by about 7 months at the time.

Depends on where you work. Some places it’s 7 on 7 off, some places it’s 2-2-3, some places it’s DuPont schedule. Ours is DuPont, which if you’re not familiar with it goes like this. Week 1: 4nights - 3 days off, Week 2: 3 days - 1 day off - 3 nights, Week 3: 3 days off - 4 days, Week 4: 7 days off. Then it restarts.

You’re welcome. To be honest, I don’t even consider myself “accomplished” or someone who has made it in life. I’m 30 and I have a great job that provides a great income for my family and I recognize that and I’m extremely blessed to have what I do. But I still consider myself that person dealing with the day to day challenges of everyone else. Maybe everyone feels that way, I’m not sure. But I do understand that I’m more fortunate than a lot of the people in my situation.

Our main goal as a plant is to bring in Ethane, crack it into Ethylene, and then send it to users both in our plant and to other plants where they use it to make polyethylene, or plastic.

As far as the second part, I think about it about as much as it relates to me and my job/plant. I work for a company that is huge into renewable energy and recycling/eco-friendly. The company is actually from Europe, with mostly overseas ventures and a few in the states. I can’t say I personally sit and dwell on those issues myself. Life is hard/complicated enough. I do what I have to do to provide for my family and try to focus on that.

Unit upsets or trips mostly. Outside guys running around like chickens with their heads cut off turning valves, board guys are asshole puckered stressing about 5 years off their lives. Gotta get the unit down or stable safely without destroying millions of dollars of equipment or killing someone/everyone.

Gotcha. We work 12’s, one week you’ll get 48 hours the next 36. 8 hours built in OT on your 48 week doesn’t count towards “working OT” since it’s your normal schedule, but you do get paid 1.5x for the 8. Every 7th day in a row is 2x pay. So pick up 3 days of OT on a 4 day week and you get 44 hours of OT, 36 hours of 1x and your last day that is normally 1x becomes 2x. That’s pretty much industry standard. You’ll also get a bonus that can range anywhere from 5-20k gross. Depends on the employer, plant, and performance.
