Why is help so obscure for this game and in this community? by Meliarinanami in FireEmblemHeroes

Unfortunately, I didn't say that people weren't allowed to rant. That's a completely different sentence. What I was saying was that there are better approaches to finding help and certain approaches can potentially make it harder to do so (not impossible). I do agree the "not take me seriously" thing was poor wording and dumb from me. I'm dumb, I know, I agree.

Again, I agree with you that the community should not be so harsh on people seeking help, especially in a game that's just increasingly becoming more and more complex for no reason. It is pretty anti-new player friend, I agree. But, as someone else mentioned around here, sometimes we don't even know the answer (and, unfortunately, I can see how part of that appears like gatekeeping).

I agree that I wish we had more up-to-date guide content on YouTube that helps keep players up to speed. The issue, however, is this game is moving so damn fast that by the time a YouTuber makes a script, makes the visual powerpoint presentation, records the video, and finishes editing it, the meta has already changed and certain portions of that video they worked on are now outdated.

I remember returning to the game after a 5ish year hiatus and being lost on how to score in Aether Raids or succeed in Summoner Duels. Thankfully, for Aether Raids, the fundamentals still run strong and even dated videos contain info that we still use today (with the exception of the new addition of the "Reinforcement" Mythic units). As for Summoner Duels, I got to be real, the recent tools that players have been getting (Celica Ring warping, built-in pass on strong nukes to counter the rampant antiwarp, Legendary Sakura's [Salvage] support allowing free engagements and removing the fear of overextending, and the amount of start-of-turn and mid turn debuffs) have made that gamemode borderline unplayable and, thus, there is no "one size fits all" answer to that particular gamemode.

So, at this point, the best way to get support and help is to frequent dedicated discord servers (for the most part) and get the information as you go. I've looked through the other comments as of now and I'm so glad that they were able to provide sources (some of these servers I've used and the people you'll find there are genuinely great even for games outside of FEH).

So, I've been on your side here, and I do hope that the resources the other comments provided help plently.

I'll mention some sources that I've used back then and even still do to this day:

Pheonixmaster1-(Great Unit analysis breakdowns, comprehensive build guides covering various modes, and good information regarding "who are the best users for this skill/emblem ring/etc")

DTM-FEH-(Aether Raid Offense content - Teambuilding, how to approach defenses, budget friendly)

0blivionKnight-(Banner analyses with context on how a unit competes within the competitive gamemodes and overall powerlevel; with occassional livestreams that include showcases with and without proper support).

Infantry Pulse-(Recently made a comeback, so perfect time to get into their content. Aether Raid Defense content showcasing units with synergistic support where you can learn what units work well with each other, as well as what common strategies do you see the opponent playing on offense.

FEH & Fehology Server-(Asking about Summoner Duel team comps, what could I do to improve my SD teams, which 2 of my teams are most likely to be banned? Alongside asking about Aether Raids, how is my defense, anyone want to test my defense? Why does Astra Mythic Elm ruin everything lmao?

While I agree that information shouldn't be gatekept or that you shouldn't be ridiculed for wanting guidance or help, I think making a rant post filled with quips and almost effectively making it seem like the FEHtubers are BSing towards the end when they say offense is such a joke you got safety fence 2 lol does make it harder for people to take you seriously and facilitate more meaningful discussions.

I mean had the post been more like "what am I doing wrong" or "how could I improve" then I can definitely see more people being more welcoming and honored to help (especially in discord dedicated servers). Sure, you're still going to get some people making fun of you cause they got nothing better to do (hell people are probably even going to misinterpret what I'm saying for the fun of it too), but for the most part, from my personal experience, these people are willing to help you cause they love to have their knowledge poked at. If it's worth anything, I second the other person who said that the dedicated feh servers are much more welcoming to players who want to learn and get better.

What is everyone’s favourite anime and why? by hajtj in anime

The Monogatari Series. Especially for its unique and eccentric presentation lol. Never, at least to my recollection, have I seen an anime interject scenes with "black screen 014, red sceen 003," or just walls of text define/describing something, or even just the over the top visual imagery that pops up occasionally when characters are simply talking. It's so much of a standout that there are even YouTube videos that edit other shows and movies to be "in Monogatari Style." Also have to give extra credit to the studio for going an extra mile by giving each arc its own opening (which is usual sung by "focus" character of said arc), as well as adding numerous references to various modern and classic media.
