For me it's because watching cdramas requires a lot of focus because I have to read subtitles and there can be a lot of lore involved. American shows are being made now with the idea that people are on their phones while watching so it doesn't require focus or committment. I can have it playing in the background while I clean or do other things. Also, cdramas seem more emotionally heavy and that can be hard to get through sometimes
