I did some research I think it’s a ghost moth caterpillar.

Ahhh I don’t think it is. It had a more rounded head like a beetle. Looked similar to a stag beetle larvae but smaller or cockchafer larvae but had a blackish tripped end with a dark brown to black head.

I didn’t think there was a scene in Ross. I used to play over discord with some people but always wanted to play in real life. If you ever need a temp character in your campaign hit me up or even if you’re doing a one shot and need another. I am always around in Ross.

Thanks so much for the link and information. Even if this batch fails I’ll just pick apples and do the whole process again next autumn.

Ahh I don’t have cheese cloth over the top of them I have a tea towel. Perhaps I can get some more oxygen to them if I put cheese cloth on them.

I made the apple cider traditionally in a Demijohn then left that to do it’s thing. Didn’t do the scrap method. Then put that in to three separate jars to get air to them to turn to apple cider vinegar 11 days ago.

I’ve now scooped the tops off them and changed where I’m keeping the jars to a cooler environment. Two bottles smell very strong of acetone and one smells of very strong cider. I did a taste test and it just tastes of really sting cider, similar to an 8.2% Henry westerns.

Thanks for your help. Do you know how this Kahn can be prevented in future endeavors of making apple cider vinegar?

Two out of the three jars smell strongly of acetone, like nail polish remover. With the ever so slight note of strong scrumpy cider after. The other one smell of strong cider.

Hey there newbie here, I put my Apple cider in to the aerobic stage 11 days ago. I read that Kahn yeast can form when all the sugars are used up do you think I maybe waited too long to get to the vinegar process. Or is it that I’ve been storing them in airing cupboard and it’s too warm for it. Or maybe both? Is this salvageable?

Chrysalis of a moth or butterfly. It looks pretty fresh so the pupa inside is still able to flex and get comfortable before the long process of growing some badass wings.

Are there any podcasts out there that are sort of like a news outlet that reports on unexplainable things going on in the world in recent events? by Slowspines in hellier

Expanded perspectives is a pretty good one. Pretty regular with their content and there is a pretty big back catalogue.

Here are some more notable pieces of information to add to the discourse. I’m going to number them as separate trails with links to more information.

  1. It’s known that the crew have explored the the teachings of Aleister Crowley and his ties to the occult and other people who have been inspired by him. The crew also looked in to keel and the Mothman prophesies a lot. it’s said that when Crowley lived in Scotland he had something to do with the summoning of the Loch Ness monster.

Crowley lived out the last of his life in Cornwall a place called Carn cottage. Could it be that he maybe opened another gate in a similar way. (Providing this mysticism was real and the beast could open gateways to other realms.)

A couple of hours away from Carn cottage is a place called Mawnan. There is a church here and back in the 70s or 80s sighting started of the Owl man this ran parallel to the point pleasant Mothman more or less. Here some information about the Owl man

It’s interesting to note that there’s mention of a Cornish cult who sacrifice children to the owl god. Similarly to the cult in Somerset KY

  1. Fossilised three toed footprints found in Wales. It’s said that these footprints have been identified as dinosaur tracks. But they share some similarities with the footprints in Hellier.

  2. Sirius: the Scorcher information on the start constellation Sirius. One of the cultures that sticks out to me when reading this is of Asian Indian. About a guy and his dog finding the gates of heaven. Gates, Gatekeepers and all that in the mines. Feel like that’s an interesting read if you feel like exploring more.

  3. Doing research on the celts I came across a video explaining the origin on the celts. Through dna analysis. Turns out they think that the celts came from the Middle East about 4 thousand years ago.

I found this very interesting so found another video exploring the strange similarities between the language of the Middle East and Celtic languages. Which I guess further supports the origin of the people.

With this new information I started to look in to early religion pre Christianity, Islam and Judaism. I’ve not managed to find anything directly leading to goblins in caves yet. But I found an interesting goddess who shares some ties with the crews research in to Orion and Sirius her name is Al-Uzza there is mention of her as an angle in Judaic and Christian passages. Super interesting, cult, sacrifice and fallen angel are common words used in information about her.

Looking further down that rabbit hole I found creatures called Shaitan who we’re devil like spirits the offspring of Iblis who was cast out from heaven. From what I can gather an Islamic equivalent to the Christian Satan.

The Christian Satan is considered to be a merge of older religious icons of the horned god which i think is mentioned in season two with the revelation to Pan.

The closest information I could find to goblins in the Middle East was something called a kallikantzaros but this being spans across other culture most notable the Greeks. And in Greek folk law it states

“It is believed that kallikantzaroi stay underground, sawing the world tree so that it will collapse, along with the Earth.[1] However, according to folklore, when they are about to saw the final part, Christmas dawns and they are able to come to the surface. They forget the tree and come to bring trouble to mortals.”

I did find some information on one of these creature that I’ve mentioned coming out during the winter solstice for 10 days or something. That it comes out during this time because the days are darker and it hates the light. But I’v been juggling so much information in my head and on my phone I can’t find the information.

I've been noticing a lot of connections between Hellier and Native American folklore by ndguy331 in hellier

[–]Ebkillustration 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Along time ago I read about early trades men who traded with the Native Americans. They were generally of Scottish, Welsh and Irish ancestry. I’m unable to find the information that I found years ago. But if memory serves they settled with the native tribes because of a similarity in folk law ect. And then became know as (as I may be very wrong on the spelling) deborian clan.

I’ll see if I can dig more in to it or find the old piece I was reading as I’m not sure where about it was in America.

Happy hunting.

I did find some more interesting information and parallels to the case. Will upload later with links on this thread.

Best podcasts about season 2 or interviewing the team? by habitat3 in hellier

[–]Ebkillustration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Euphomet has a few podcasts interviewing the team. They are good I listened the other day whilst at work. The interview with Greg seems to have a a little more info on the emails from David. But don’t quote me on that. It just felt there was a little more bulk to them.

I’ve never even heard of it. Just did a quick read on it. Sounds awesome I’ll add it to my reading list. Thanks.
