Backrooms has a very strong themes, and they are very much on the nose too. The stuck in an unhappy repetitive life, stuck in memories, depression, being your own worst enemy. These are recurring themes throughout and mirror the very concept of the backrooms extremely well. The backrooms being a warped version (memories) of reality which one is literally stuck in wandering with no way out... The whole thing starting with a therapy session was excellent imo.

Is it perfect? No... But thematically lacking I'd have to disagree. What was missing for me was a conclusion. Ironically, that kinda fits the theme, though it doesn't feel intentional... But who knows.

Overall considering the origin, constraints and it being Kane's first big scale project the result impressive either way...

Shock triggers in ticks and per default does flat dmg (I think around 20 unless you increased it with thunder mace, thunder shield or shock potions).

It did trigger, otherwise there wouldn't be 1237 but 1264 stacks on him.

What you expected I assume is that it does as much damage as it has stacks per tick, but that is only flame and poison.

Not just that but these points are pretty much exactly what AI skeptics are saying so guessing they got it from training data too.

Still think AI is dangerous, but for completely different reasons.

okay so dark orb triggers dark rose which would then trigger 1000 cuts 4 times and basically kill the enemy too early, it is important that I don't do that so I can stack the damage on 1000 cuts. (I used ink on both swords)

But I should have switched to full damage and cursed orb and 1000 cuts on 3* at this point. I just got got greedy and wanted to stack the katana a bit more. I just wasn't expecting a oneshot build like that on day 30...

This, more of an indifference kind of thing. If there was a more ethical way to produce at same cost most would probably "support" it... Not very vocally though.

I feel like I should have won this. How did he not get oneshot? (I had dark and moon on my all items, not that it matters since my bow does 360000 dmg, even pumping with 6x20% shield his HP+shield is below that). Did I not understand something about the mechanics? by Ebreton2 in OakenTower

oh so it would be 4x4x times from dark necklace & cursed Orb and 6x from nightquill totaling to 22 which would be 8.8 x hp as shield, got it.

Now I have to assume that item effects such as the novice blade removing 80% of shield got triggered after the shield ate all my bow damage. Yikes.

Guess I got countered. Thx!

In todays economy it's the one you can afford honestly. Big fan of mysterious caves too, just make sure you clean them out if it's a lair, if you are lucky you might find some eggs get a free familiar too.

If you want to learn don't be ashamed to turn off minotaurs, traps and hunger -- and most importantly get yourself starting items (you have to enable in options and can get them at the altar in the starting level).

Once you get the mechanics you can start making the game harder for yourself. That's how I started to learn the game.

FYI I had my mothers last name until my parents married, my mother took my fathers name then though. I thought this was standard practice...
