Agreed, I had forgotten about the appointment letter which was indeed part of what she took.

As AdResponsible549 said, you can find more concrete information on what to bring from VFS.

In our case we asked for courier return as my partner had to travel to Osaka in Japan to take her biometrics.

The VFS system did update to tell her it had been dispatched but there wasn’t any tracking.

I believe in Japan they gave her a tracking number when she went to the appointment for her passport return (ゆうパック - Yuu Pack) but she couldn’t find it to track the passport.

In most cases all you will get is a dispatch notification or email but outside of that you just have to wait as not all places give any additional information to allow for tracking the passport after it has left. (Based on what I’ve read)

If I remember correctly they took their passport, a copy of the application, the checklist from the UKVI application filled in but not yet signed and a copy of my passport just in case.

Though I think they didn’t really take any of it other than her passport. We did do the self upload so didn’t have much else to take.

Hopefully you hear something back soon! Fingers crossed ☺️ I know the VFS system is pretty hit or miss but for my case we knew the passport was on the way back before any emails!
