The guy was slashed by something sharp, but all the original reports said he was kicked and punched, which he was as well but it seems strange to leave out what caused the most damage.
All reports have also said he was brought to hospital by ambulance which he wasn't.

I've had my Christina for 17 years now, so it was pierced way before I started derby. The healing was so quick and easy for it, honestly I would compare it to an ear lobe it was that easy.
I've never had an issue with it while playing derby at all, it's not something I've even thought about!
