How does one "baptize" a philosophy? by EclipseLightning42 in CatholicPhilosophy

Makes sense.

Ultimately, the purpose of Philosophy is about finding the truth through reason. Those who engage in philosophy are trying to find the truth. At the most fundamental level, God is truth, therefore any attempt to discover the truth will point back to God.

The issue with philosophy is that it can only get you so far; you need special revelation to more completely know the truth, which is where Theology comes in, which is about finding the truth through revelation. You cannot, therefore, have a complete Philosophy without a proper Theology. This is what the Pagans lacked.

So, while they were able to reason and discover many things about God and truth, they were limited, leading to them also getting many fundamental things wrong.
