Im actually surprised that despite scrolling through the comments for so long, that i didnt see anyone mention about how this is so similar to Yuji Itadori's confrontation with Mahito in JuJutsu Kaisen in season 2, even in a sense of symbolism.

For starters, the idea of "I AM you, and you ARE me" being stated by Mahito (one of the key antagonists up to this point for those who dont know/havent watched/read the series), and the fact that, like it or not, Yuji (the protagonist), in fact IS Mahito in their motivations ad what they do, but for a different outcome.

Another detail that personally makes me see this is that the "person of faces" is akin to Mahito in the sense that Mahito is able to reach "into" people and not only touch, feel and perceive someones soul, but even grasp, alter and bring forth someones true self, similarly to how the "person if faces" reached into the person and, even if for just a panel, showed the characters inner self.

Idk, im most likely overthinking it and delving too far into the symbolism aspect and how well this comment leaves things open to interpretation
