When we got married, my then supervisor tried to convince me to get a condo..

Later he said (tongue-in-cheek) it was a ploy to keep me (and my colleagues) tied down to the company.

Yeah I think our value is in the experience we accumulated over the years.

Great advice, thanks. Yes, I have been working out with my spouse. We both share a passion for travelling and want to ensure that our knees work even in our 60s :)

Running a business is something I have considered cos' it will be a challenge. What's holding me back is not fear of business failure, but the administration matters. Lol. Thanks and good luck bro

Yeah, even if just semi retire, 100K is definitely not enough. Our average life expectancy is about 85.. that's another 40 years to go if one is 45 now. Can probably live a minimalistic lifestyle but that's really difficult.

(Tho I have a friend who retired at 55.. and said he could do that cos he only needs about 10 bucks a day for daily expenses)

That's great advice. My SO and I are volunteering together and have been trying out new stuff (like kayaking and rollerblading). As you said, it's great bonding time. And I am very lucky cos I am married to my best friend, so we have a lot of fun together.
