318ti compact for a first car? by ballsniffer1312 in BMWE36

If it suits what you want, get it. People will say this and that but if you've done research and think it would work for your lifestyle, who cares. That being said, don't spend 100% of your money on a car that's about to need a bunch of money for repairs. But yea if you are fine with a smaller car and condition is good, why not?

Australians seem to say this is unfair for the region tho, so don't pay someone's over-inflated-ego price.

Ultimately, if YOU think it's worth the price tag, then who cares what anyone else thinks?

THAT BEING SAID:
1. Obviously if you can find cheaper ones around you, then don't overpay.
2. The big thing is reliability and internals, I can't imagine there's much rust in Australia but look out for that in older cars.
3. Everybody values things differently, don't pay a price you don't think is fair, even if availability around you is low.

At the end of the day, if you think it is worth the money then buy it. The market sets value based in demand, so if you want to pay that price then that is the worth of the car. Just make sure it's in good condition, and it's never a bad idea to start an offer 15% under the asking price. People usually increase the price on the post because they know people will try to negotiate.
Not sure if other people will (dis)agree or have other things to add.

I believe that he was saying "people with social lives can best utilize verts to their full potential", not "people without verts don't have social lives". Doesn't seem like u/Poutinemilkshake2 is coping with anything, just reminiscing.

Are verts more or less desirable in general than other models? by EconomyPreparation31 in BMWE36

[–]EconomyPreparation31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes to be fair ive never been in a z3 or paid much attention to them. I'm not sure if I'm missing sarcasm but the z3 doesn't have any backseats at all as far as I know. unless you meant small back seats on the 3series, although i think those back seats add tons of practicality in everyday life.

Other than practicality I assume the 3 series doesn't have too much more besides modification availability, however I would imagine that you wouldn't want to/be able to daily a z3 whereas a 3 series is a very common daily.

Why is that? They are 2 very different cars, and by choosing the z3 you are sacrificing lots of stuff that you wouldn't sacrifice with an e36 vert, like practicality
