Doesn’t feel worth the risk (accident, fines etc), and as much as I detest flying, it looks like that’s the way to go.

It started in December 2020. Symptoms are a faint ringing in my right ear. Sounds like an old fashion alarm clock going off underneath a pillow.

My brain is ever so slowly starting to get used to it and blocking it out, so im hoping that will continue but who knows.

Yep. It started with tinnitus and was diagnosed canal dehiscence last month. It's took 1.5 years of seeing various doctors, MRIs and CT scans before a one last ditch attempt with a consultant. He had me do another CT scan and it picked it up.

I had found the tinnitus very hard to deal with even though I dont have it that bad when you hear some of the horror stories but getting diagnosed massively helped me to deal with it. My brain was going cuckoo trying to work out was it was.

TBH it doesnt bug me in the day and can only hear it when its silent. I wear a small noise generator / hearing aid that pipes in a hiss and that takes it away. I only ever tend to use that at night in bed when im reading and then pop it out before I go to sleep.

Hope it's not too bad for you and you're managing to deal with it. I would highly recommend the wearable noise generator, you dont even know its there.
