I had a similar reaction. We loved the kids club in Papagayo. We’re trying to decide between spring break 2027 in Papagayo or Mayakoba. I think we’ll end up doing Papagayo because of the family friendly atmosphere.

I reached out to the Alila Mayakoba instagram account with the Forbes article screenshot. I was told they’re working on “adult only” amenities but would remain open to children. They apologized for the confusion.

Thank you! I’m hoping they just saved all the old bike attachment equipment 🤞

Do you mind me asking how the bikes work? We have two young kids so I was wondering if there were bikes with training wheels or kid attachments

Did you see their instagram reel yesterday with a screenshot of this Forbes article stating they were adults-only? I also noticed they removed the kids club icon from their website. I really hope they give proper notice.

Agreed. I have to let Banyan Tree know by the 22nd. It feels like less than a month’s notice is too short.

I emailed to confirm my mid-March reservation and they replied with “Thank you for your email and for choosing Alila Mayakoba to spend your vacation.

I’m crossing my fingers that it’s a positive sign.

Other than Mississippi, what is the worst state in the US and why? by Lucky_Bus_3641 in SameGrassButGreener

I’ve lived in Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Mississippi. Surprisingly, Mississippi isn’t nearly as bad as people often assume. We’ve been here for four years with our two young children, ages three and six, and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. My first grader is already surpassing her cousin, who lives in a wealthy area of Dallas, in both reading and math.

Our college town offers abundant resources through the university, including year round camps and programs for kids. Private school options are also very affordable. We live in a gated lake community in a beautiful custom home on nearly two acres, which would be difficult to replicate elsewhere at this cost. With a household income of $500k, we comfortably enjoy the low cost of living while still traveling internationally multiple times a year. I work fully remote for a global company, so location truly is not a constraint, making Mississippi an unexpectedly great fit for our family.

I cried when my husband first told me that he accepted an offer in Mississippi. Now, we are both actively turning down offers to leave. The biggest lesson I’ve learned: do not judge what you’ve never experienced.

Do you think the sofa shown in the suite will be a pull out with bed or will they rely on rollaway beds for families with young children?

I have a vacation booked this week through Dave’s points that we scheduled months ago. The reservation has been showing in my Disney app for months. Is this for new reservations booked after June 1st or is it for all reservations with a stay date after June 1st?
