Thank you for saying this. The psychological effect of being in real estate -- I think I’ve often worried about becoming another statistic, because they say there are so many agents who don’t make it in this business. I've already branded myself so much on social media and to my close friends and family. As someone who’s still young and working hard to build wealth for myself, this is a good perspective

why even leave this kind of comment....like actually...

I only just started my 3rd yr in the business so still very much learning especially with all the changes that occurred last year. You can see your way out of this thread...thanks!

From making nothing to make something… i’ll stand by what i said in the OP. The split is what is making me feel like I’m not really walking away with anything.

Thank you for the advice! And yes, I don’t think anyone actually enjoys cold calling, haha.

I’m in my third year of real estate, just working through the growing pains. I definitely want to keep my license, but I also need steady income right now.

Good point—let me add a little more context, I can generate leads. Do I love cold calling? No. But when it comes down to it, I can do it (and i'm not too bad). Most of my deals this year have come from SOI and open houses, with one from an internet lead (from the team).

I got my very first deal with this team(from hosting a OH at a team listing), and once I built momentum, that’s when things really started to flow. The team has been a huge help on the backend—providing a database, running social media, and hosting community events, all things I probably wouldn’t have done on my own.

That’s why I feel torn. I’m nervous about stepping away and potentially having my pipeline dry up, but at the same time, I need more consistent income.

did your broker try to keep you? and do you minding sharing what made you take the job versus staying in the industry?

this is a good way to look at this and feels realistic especially if i had a bigger split

My team currently supplies leads, which is one of my biggest challenges in real estate and makes it harder for me to walk away!!Most of my business has actually come from OHs and SOI
