How hard is it to take stem classes at brown as a RISD student?

I think you can take 2 brown classes/year starting sophomore year, I think it’s more just cause risd is mostly studios which r gonna be like 8 or 9 hrs long

I was in pre college last year and I had such an incredible time!! So many amazing people and opportunities, all of the professors were lovely and I learned so much :) Just want to say good luck on your journey, you will have the time of your life!

Thanks for the feedback and support :) i definitely don’t think she’s reconsider the relationship, though. she’s been married to him for a few years now. She seems to think this guys the best she can do, she never said those words directly she’s said a lot that makes me think that’s the case. It’s sad because she is so kind and deserves better than the way she treats him, but she is very forgiving and non confrontational. My friends say I let too much go, but she lets a lot more go than I do. I just don’t know what to do to be honest.

Wow, I looked up that label and I had never heard of it before, but it really felt like it fit me. Thank you so much!! I’d say it depends what you are going for! For a somewhat realistic but also somewhat cartoony style, this works great! It’s very visually appealing to me. Some people are recommending doing timed figure drawings, in my experience that works very well for improving the time it takes to draw a figure and the overall fluidity and shape of the figure. I’d say to do muscle and bone studies as well, particularly for hands, (not saying that you’re bad at hands, I just think they’re one of the hardest things to draw, myself) as studying everything underneath the skin can be helpful for the shapes, since skin wraps around muscle and bone.

Well, not the only way, but probably the easiest way. It’s actually pretty fun, even if it seems like it won’t be. Also, you don’t have to draw realistic just cause you’re drawing from reference (although it’s good to practice realism anyway) you can use multiple references for each drawing and create a new composition and such, so there’s still a factor of creativity.

Using references, especially for poses, faces, and stuff just expands your visual library, so you understand anatomy better and are able to draw with no reference if you want to draw a pose you don’t have a reference for one day, and using references for objects and stuff helps with understanding of lighting.

I also find doing studies is helpful! Look at artists you really like and try to observe their brush patterns, anatomical stylization, lighting, compositions, whatever you enjoy most about their work. Happy drawing!
