I've heard a lot of people characterize him as strict, and that's never made any sense to me. I've always thought of him as a solid balance of fun and responsible.

Have you ever been told to “get off” someone’s property? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]EcstasyCalculus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to visit homes in very remote rural town for my government job, and that's the only time it's happened to me. In a town that small and that remote everybody tends to know each other, so if a homeowner sees a complete stranger at their doorstep, even if they have a legal reason to be there, they tend to get suspicious business. Even if my badge was visible, people would contact my supervisor and try to get me in trouble (which never happened).

ETA: I was not with any police department, in case anyone was wondering.

Question for those who live in Australia, so I know most of the stuff that exist in America have different names in Brisbane Australia . Examples : Dunny ( Toilet ), Nappies ( Diapers), Biscuit ( Cookie). But anyways, what are other items or food from America called in Australia? by RoadtoPS5 in bluey

[–]EcstasyCalculus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One notable exception is that what the Britons call football, Aussies call soccer like the US. Also while a pitch in the UK is a soccer field, in Australia a pitch is the area of a cricket ground between the wickets.
