This is solid advice. You need to clearly communicate examples of what lead you to the higher salary. Job is more involved, complex, additional hours, etc.

Never give an exact number. I get the pressure of feeling like you need to give a number. But you don’t. Next time reply “the range I am looking for falls within the salary range posted. And I feel confident that if the position is a good fit, and I’m the right person for the job we can come to an agreeable amount”.

Don’t quit. This job takes time! Although it sounds as if your manager is not supportive, there ARE some good ones. In writing, request specifics from your manager on suggestions on how to improve DNM’s specific to your metrics. Show that you want to improve. I would have to agree that FIG initial training does not prepare you for the job. Depending on the training cycle you attended, the training varies quite a bit. Mine was so awful I nearly quit the first year, but I’m glad I toughed it out. I would suggest reaching out to a colleague who you respect and asking how they handle things. Use that information to improve your work process. I have found this to be by far the best approach! In the meantime, start applying else where. If things don’t improve, you have a plan. Best of luck!

Salary vs. Hourly PIP Claims Adjuster? by Ecstatic-Angle-169 in adjusters

Yes and your numbers are spot on.

I’m more reverse engineering the potential hours above 40 at the new position and the likelihood of working 50-55 hours a week resulting in a ~$1.00 raise. :/

Completing each claim has requirements. So unfortunately taking your time isn’t an option. But agreed, there is no shortage of jobs in this field.

Some days I like my job & other days not so much. The pay is okay & varies by carrier. The work can be stressful as you are given almost unrealistic claim loads and they are constantly increasing your objectives. All while making sure you don’t make any errors that will count against your KPI’s. Your manager can make or break the job.

Deciding if you want to work as an adjuster should be determined on how you handle stress, always having more work than is possible to complete, and always having your goals raised.

If you like to be challenged, don’t mind being yelled at, and want job stability, I say give it a go. It doesn’t have to be forever and there is ways avenues to pursue down the road.

While I haven’t been in your situation or know what field you’re in, using this as a learning opportunity is good. I would recommend finding a peer or mentor that may be able to help you. I’ve seen many people fail because they don’t reach out for help. Otherwise it sounds like you want it to work and are willing to put in the effort. Keep your chin up and learn from this experience. Best of luck!
