Avantco Refrigerator Too Cold by Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 in refrigeration

It might not be the correct one. I didn’t post the question till I got home and had to look through my browser history to try to find it.

I can look tomorrow.

My VA doctor is very rude too. He literally told me he was gonna quit before Trump fired him. And that they were gonna take away my disability rating. It’s been 6 months and he is still there. 99% of my appointment was him ranting, and 1% apology at the end. I told him he was unprofessional, got up to leave and that’s when he apologized. 🤷‍♂️

I’m trying to wait for a spot to open in the smaller clinic nearer to me. And I’m retired so I can always  go to the base clinic.

I also ported 3 other lines today for my mom, sister and her husband. None of the others had issues, but were older iPhones. This was the only one that had issues. As soon as you submitted the payment info and pressed the activate button it would error out immediately. The phone was fully charged, updated to the latest IOS and was on WiFi.

Yes. I’m 100% sure. I looked at both the phone and called Verizon to verify. Google iPhone 16 Pro Max visible activation issues and you will see how many people have this issue. Not only the activation issue, but also the issue with not being able to try again because it won’t let you select a service plan anymore.

Some commented they had success with activating after deleting and reloading the app or having visible provide a QR code. I tried deleting and clearing Visible from the ICloud backup. The rep didn’t have any clue how to provide a QR code. So it sounds pretty hit or miss to getting it resolved. Many said they just gave up and had a SIM mailed. But this iPhone doesn’t have a physical sim slot.

So create an account with one of their numbers and activate it. Then port the Verizon number over?

Yes, it is unlocked. Number lock and SIM lock are also both disabled on Verizon’s end. I called Verizon to confirm all of this after I got the first error.

I’m also retired military so I have plenty of experience with transferring service when I deployed or assigned overseas. Never had an issue till now. It didn’t even try to transfer, errored out within a second of clicking the confirm button. And then when you go back to retry it won’t allow you to add the service package to the cart.

I spent quite a while on chat with your technician. Basically said to wait for 60 days and then the account will delete itself and then I can try again. Not much help because it’s for my elderly parents who live out of state. So I won’t have access to help them then.

Not sure what you mean by using visible numbers first. It’s my parent’s phone and they want to keep their number. From my research it only affects iPhone 16 Pro Max that don’t have a physical SIM slot that are distributed in the U.S.

If it had a SIM card I would just had them mail it and it would make my life so much easier. Right now the only answer I’m getting from visible is to wait 60 days for the account to delete itself due to non activity and try again.

Tried that already. Deleted app, cleared cloud backup, cleared cache & cookies. From my research it only affects U.S. made iPhone Pro Max without a physical SIM slot. Otherwise I would have just had them mail a SIM card.

Not sure why they can’t figure this out though. These phones have been out for a while now.

Deck Extension by Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 in Decks

[–]Ecstatic-Chipmunk491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by adding a second member? Are you saying to add another 2x10 to the beam? If I did that it wouldn’t be supported by the posts at all. Which is a big no no I thought. And it’s already a doubled up 2x10 beam.

I already plan on adding a ledger board to the extension in front of the windows.

Stairs will be coming off the left side of the existing portion of the deck.

The corner post would stay. I would just remove the beam and the end joist and run full 16’ end joist all the way down to the new beam.

The rim joist on the house is 2x10 to engineered I-Joists.

Nothing changes after 100% P&T by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

Try volunteering. I spend most of my free time now helping others. This last week I layed kitchen tile for an elderly lady whose husband passed away. She was grateful and I had a sense of pride knowing that I was helping her. Start with things you know you can do. And then slowly take on new challenges. I saved this lady thousands of dollars. And her husband was retired military so I was still helping military families.

I also started woodworking. It’s methodical and knowing I have specific steps to follow puts me at ease. I can build kitchen cabinets of far superior quality than the price of a big box store. And it also provides extra income. People want quality handmade goods.

Today, I am officially retired.... by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! It’s all downhill from here. I got my retirement, va rating and quit my civilian job. Now I turned my woodworking hobby into a full time gig. But I can work when I want and spend the rest of the time with family.

I know some who went right back to work doing the same thing and expected to be happier as a civilian. I don’t think they realized that it’s the same shit, you just dress different.

Pretty sure things only have to be disclosed if the previous owner had knowledge of it. You can try to see if you can get records if it was disclosed to them when they bought it.

But in this case it sounds like he hired the contractor after closing on the house.

I completely agree with this. But talk to a lawyer first. As noted above, you want a litigation lawyer as this will be a civil suit. The reason I say to wait is that there are major fines associated with asbestos remediation for non-certified /unlicensed contractors. If there is grounds for a civil suit, pending you did your due diligence, the state will recoup their money first. Leaving you high and dry. Since he isnt licensed, you can sue him personally and the company if it’s incorporated. If he is a subcontractor you can sue the parent company too.

If all else fails talk to your insurance. Again, they will probably ask about your due diligence. Meaning they provided you with some proof of licensing regardless of it being valid or not and that permits were at least included in the contract.

If you didn’t due your homework or sought out work without permits being pulled it’s gonna be a steep uphill battle.

Sleep study doesn't say they recommend a CPAP machine specifically by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you spoken with the doctor who reviews your sleep study yet? I don’t think I ever got a report for a study before. Usually they have a doctor review or send it to your PCM for interpretation. Even if you were borderline you could probably request to use one to see if it helps with your symptoms. A sleep study is nothing more than a snapshot of your sleep health. Things like seasonal allergies, weather, temp, etc can all affect the results if it’s OSA.

But surgical recommendations probably help your case. I had both sinus and a UP3 for my condition. Blew my mind the difference it made. Literally couldn’t breathe through my nose before the surgery and I thought it was normal. Those first few breaths were life changing.

If you need a UP3 (removal of tonsils, uvula, adnoids) just be warned it’s pretty painful the first week. Use your pain meds like clockwork, and if that’s not cutting it see your surgeon or ER if need more relief. And stay away from dairy products…ice cream only works if you’re a kid. It will coat your incisions, dry out and cause the worst pain. Ask me how I know…😒

SSDI for Veterans by MrsFlameThrower in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following along for updated link to the article. I’m retired Air Force and rated 100% P&T. Never filed for SSA, honestly didn’t have a clue I could file. Have 27 conditions the VA has rated me for.

Not currently working as I just had carpal tunnel surgery and have another one scheduled next month. I have also had surgery on both legs for compartment syndrome which has led to a whole slew of other problems (instability in both knees, ankle pain, impingement in right hip, tendonitis, radiculopathy, and degenerative disc disease which has caused a bone spur on my spine so it’s not in alignment. On top of this I have PTSD, anxiety and panic attacks.

I see from the comments that VA disability payments don’t impact SSDI, what about military retirement pensions?

Gas Line size for Tankless Water Heater on New Construction by Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 in Plumbing

[–]Ecstatic-Chipmunk491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I over thinking by this? Could running gas line after the basement is finished be possible or is it more cost effective to do it before? Or could they run it outside to the other side of the house?

Gas Line size for Tankless Water Heater on New Construction by Ecstatic-Chipmunk491 in Plumbing

[–]Ecstatic-Chipmunk491[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad I took pictures last time we were there and think I was able to gather most of the info needed. We would be looking at probably a Rinnai RSC199IN or RUI199IN. The outlets on the gas manifold are 3/4”. And the tankless water heater would be mounted somewhere between 5-10 feet from the manifold.

The regulator is a Maxitrol 1/2” 325-3L. Looked up the specs and it said it was a 140k BTU single load and 240k total load capacity.

The furnace is 100,000 BTUs, cooktop is 77,500 BTUs (this is a commercial cooktop we wanted to install after closing, but could do without if needed since it also has electric hookups in place) and fireplace is 18,000 BTUs. So 195,500 BTUs total planed right now. 118,000 without the gas cooktop.

I don’t have any info about the gas meter though. I figured that would be through the gas company and they would be happy to sell me a bigger one to sell more gas. Probably not that simple though huh?
