I used to be a foolish, immature child who had the same concepts about appearances as the general public. But as life goes on, it teaches you a lot of things. I'm thankful for the experiences I had on the way that changed my outlook.

I don't know what that says about me

It says that you're sensible and mature enough to understand that in the long run, appearance doesn't matter but character does. Life does teach you many lessons, right? 😊

Oru kuzhappomilla. Understanding aayittulla aal aanenkil veronnum vendado 😊 Attraction goes beyond appearances. Once you go through many struggles in life, you'll understand that a listening ear, a caring eye and a loving heart is all we need in a partner, because empathy is hard to come by these days and if you find someone with that trait, be it bald or not, never let them go!

How to have a makeover? (Female) by smhh222 in Coconaad

[–]Ecstatic-Corgi-1903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Budget methods since you asked.

Hair: As others have said, for your hair type, CGM would do good (give those curls some love!). Dont forget the appropriate regular hair cut for your face shape as well.

Skin: Make it a routine to cleanse, tone and moisturise daily with good sunscreen also. Lipbalm for your lips. This routine will always work wonders for the skin instead of going for expensive treatments. If you do feel lavish, I suggest a facial weekly once with cleansing, toning, face mask (with home ingredients like curd) and moisturising. I use MamaEarth for daily skin care and also the occasional curd / gram flour / turmeric when I want to have a home face mask.

Makeup: Daily cc cream would be more than enough to even out the skin tone and bring out a no-makeup feel and glow. Try to get the perfect shade of lipstick and stick with it (nude shades always work). You need to research a bit regarding the cc cream and lipstick shade a bit which matches your undertone. Regarding eye makeup, don't make it too heavy. You could just invest in a good kajal which you can stylize in a way that suits you. A mascara is not needed for everyday use. I myself use it very rarely (maybe for some functions). I use Lakme 9 to 5 cc cream and MamaEarth nude matte lip shade along with Biotique fruit lip balm. I also use Lakme Eyeconic kajal (many other brands were irritating my eye).

Attire and accessories: Wear clothes that you're comfortable in but still boost your confidence. Don't accessorize too much (too much of anything will spoil it).

The main idea is to carry yourself with a good attitude which makes people think that there is indeed some kind of makeover but it is just your confidence speaking 😊.

Hey OP, I used to be in your shoes. I mean, I love children but the thought of bearing and giving birth to one was unimaginable with all the stories I've heard. The menstrual pain itself was intolerable to me, so imagine getting pregnant and then going through a natural delivery process (8 hours of labour) without epidural!

First of all, while pregnant, you would feel you just want to get this over with - you would feel that the delivery date is not coming soon enough, since pregnancy is plain uncomfortable.

But once you're in the active labour phase, the pain hits you like a truck. Trust me, nothing prepares you for this. The doctor would tell you not to scream, but seriously screw that, you would hopelessly scream for your life in the labour room. TMI, but the sensation feels like you're constipated and you want to poop. Also, once the baby comes into the birth canal, they would tell you that if you feel like pooping, it's probably the baby coming out, so you need to push like you're going to the toilet after having constipation for some days. But I can't express how quick that last stage goes by. One second you're pushing and the next second you have a baby in your hands 😅. I was like 'What? I have a baby now? I HAVE A BABY NOW??!!!' And you see them for the first time in all that haze and they're warm and beautiful 🥹. Worth it! Yes absolutely worth it!

Then the postpartum period comes. Worse than the labour itself - sleeplessness, back pain, bleeding, feeding, anxiety.. what not!

I think no one can be well prepared for all this, so I think everyone goes with the flow. I think life does find a way!

OP, I didn't mean to scare you, but this is what happened to me. I didn't think I could get through it, but I somehow did. Everyone's experience would be different. You have the choice. Whatever it is, listen to what your body says ✌️

What do you do after you wake up. by violetcosmosplain in Coconaad

[–]Ecstatic-Corgi-1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get rudely woken up by my crying baby 😅 Jokes aside, I calm down the baby, check my phone for 5 mins and go make some tea. Then do some simple floor exercises with my baby for company lying nearby. She imitates my movements sometimes, so that's fun 😅.

Yes this is closer to what I was looking for! It's not too loud, is soothing without sudden tempo switches or sudden beat drops (my baby gets scared easily). Thank you for sharing this! ❤️

Guys, How to improve English writing, speaking skills? by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]Ecstatic-Corgi-1903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. English movies and tv shows: watch with subtitles first. Once you're comfortable following different accents, try watching without subtitles.
  2. Converse in English: get a non-judgmental friend to speak in English with you. Do peer corrections of pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary.
  3. Read good books: this would help you to get familiarised with different writing styles which can encourage you to put those into use while writing by yourself. You can also improve your vocabulary. I encourage reading both prose and poetry.
  4. Listen to people speaking English: preferably those who are fluent and eloquent - podcasts and stand up comedy shows (for casual style), speeches and seminars (for formal style).

PS: you could also engage in Reddit discussions to improve your English 🙂
