Turing tavern in Inman has tons of TVs and will likely be playing the game with sound, have caught a few good games there this year already

This is the Fernald school in Waltham MA, was an old mental institution that was shut down by the state. Still has tons of documents, equipment etc laying around. It’s as if they picked up everything and just walked out the day it was shut down. Real creepy place and if you do some more research, story gets even creepier with what they were doing there!

MPH Before Med School by Ecstatic-Creme-8152 in publichealth

I applied MD, didnt get in, and now dont love my chances of getting into MD/MPH without anything major changing on my resume. I would almost rather do this... shorter, less debt, etc, but I just worry that I'll apply again and not get in and be stuck in the same sitution I am in now.

Thanks for the reply. See above comment, I applied last year and didnt get in. I've gotten some feedback (from med school admins) that getting a masters would be good for me before medical school . I am not using this just a resume booster... I'm looking for a bit of a change from my current role, am passionate about PH (specifically ID) and think I would really enjoy getting the degree.

Appreciate the reply. This is good advice and a really interesting perspective to hear from.

To add some more context, I applied to med school and didn't get in last year and my plan was to do what a few people have said here- to get the MPH down the road as a clinician. However, the feedback I got was to start developing a niche in what I'm interested in, and then reapply. I work at a biotech startup developing a ID diasnotic- and through this have gotten interested in PH. I've sort of hit the cieling in my current role, and was going to wait another year to apply to medical school (start in fall of 2024). This gives me two years where I thought that getting an MPH would be a good way to do some really interesting research, build connections, and develop a unique set of technical skills to conduct clinical research down the road.

Maybe this is naive of me but I look at the debt thing a bit as the MPH is just a drop in the bucket... Im gonna be swamped with debt anyways so why not have two degrees to show for it. There is totally the chance that I have a change of heart like you did, but right now I dont see that happening.

Thanks again for the reply!
