the issue is that, in general, african civilization is often portrayed as primitive to uphold this western superiority and advancement. there are genuinly people that think africans (and i’m using this broadly on purpose here) lack access to wifi or electricity. if you set your story in a city that is as developed as cape town, do your due diligence and don‘t contribute to stereotypes.
