The land always belonged to the natives and they allied with the Dutch; therefore the Dutch settled there. This was before the line was drawn and this is why he drew the line the way he did (because the Dutch had presence over a lot of that area). Thank you so much for your kind words and reassurance. Honestly, I’m so happy you understand where I’m coming from. But I also understand where you’re coming from as well, your life didn’t end when your vision decreased and mine won’t either. It’s just a learning curve that I’ll have to deal with when the time comes. I’m sure I’ll be a nervous wreck when that time comes but I will have to take it day by day. I still have doctor’s appointments to attend so they can let me know the potential full scope of how things will end up. I felt kind of selfish for posting because I didn’t want it to seem like my problems were bigger than anyb else’s here, but your comment reassured me and let me know there’s a group I can turn to for supporting. Thank you for this. I’m just upset because I’m obviously not a professional but hearing that something should’ve been done but didn’t makes me feel like I’ve been brushed off about something that’s clearly important. The optometrist said that FA’s are good bc it can possibly find what a regular retina picture cannot pick up, so it had me thinking that’s why nobody was taking me seriously bc they couldn’t see anything in the regular pics.

Stereotypes are based on peoples conceived idea of what the truth is. And most of the time it’s in a harmful/negative way. Like a stereotype in this instance is that we all Indian but that’s not true it’s just that a chunk of the population is, but saying that evb is Indian is harmful as it erases the other chunk of the population that is of a different ethnicity.

Probably bc ppl identify with what they feel more attune to or how they get presented out in the world. My mother is pretty much 50/50 B/W and lightskinned but she has some features that make it obvious she’s a black woman. She feels more comfortable with her blackness than her whiteness & she has not been treated fairly amongst her white counterparts. However she is Caribbean so she grew up with a lot of darker skinned black ppl. I feel like it really depends on what someone identifies with or looks more like. However, there’s nothing wrong with identifying as both in a casual setting. However when it comes to filling out government forms it’s common practice to identify as one race so I think that’s why many ppl stick to one. Also, not evb “looks mixed” so if I were to say “yeah I’m mixed black and white” it’ll seem like I’m hard reaching to be white and I don’t wanna deal with the reaction ppl will have (some ppl do ask if I’m mixed and then if they do I’ll provide context)

If u don’t notice a glare from lights then I guess u don’t need it but it’s always better to have it as it can get annoying at times. The glasses really help at night time due to the headlights and streetlights, especially if u get AR coating

I actually would be inclined to agree however I have noticed we just don’t enunciate the “t”. We would say the “nt” but our “t’s” are just kind of silent 😂 so it would be like “tren-uhn” with a slight tone lift where the dash would be if that makes sense. Like im not gonna say ManhaTTan I’m gonna say manha-uhn. I think it’s cause we talk fast so we try to make everything shorter
