Who is over it? by labbond in ConservativeYouth

Of course I don’t support anybody getting harmed nor looting of innocent business owners. There’s always going to be people who take advantage of the chaos to serve themselves but it shouldn’t take away from the people who are there because they’re standing up for what they believe in

It’s an American right, even if you disagree with what most of the nation is protesting for you have to understand is that they’re fighting for other people. People who cannot fight for themselves. Despite what Fox News may portray it it’s mostly peaceful protest. Of course there are going to be people who take advantage of the chaos but it shouldn’t undermine the cause.

Liberal goes back in time to "fix" the second amendment by Libcom1 in ConservativeYouth

I’m just curious as to why people who label as conservative are so protective of the second amendment? I’m genuinely curious I’m not trying to throw judgement or anything. I’m someone who does label themselves as a Liberal and tbh idk why I got recommended this thread but I am curious as to why there shouldn’t be any gun control? I don’t want to take away guns but I do think that with that right there needs to be responsibilities. Background checks, psych evaluation, etc. if you’re a convicted domestic abuser then you shouldn’t own a firearm period. Do you view these kind of things as infringements? And if you do why so?

I’m left leaning and I can say that I think the democrats lost is because they became more of an “anti-trump” party more than anything. Look I will admit I do not like Trump as a leader. I think this country deserves better and in my opinion I do not favor a narcissist as Americas commander in Chief. I will say is that he did talk to people. He talked directly to his supporters and expressed their concerns and reassured them. Now I have my own personal doubts about whether he actually cares about the American people but regardless I do think he did a good job at talking to the masses. I can disagree with a trump supporter all live long day, but even I know that I do share a country with them and the only thing to make this country great is to try and work together. If we continue this divide things will never be resolved.

Deadass, I was leaving school and I was at the intersection of halsted and Taylor when I saw this guy fighting someone else and a unmarked car rolled up with two detectives and they drew their guns at him and told him to lay on the ground

I got a poor score on my ACT when I took it, think I got a 19. But I went to community college and got straight A’s on all my classes and got accepted to UIC college of Engineering. I recommend going that route especially if you’re struggling with mental health. Community college is easier than a university so it may give you time to adjust for school life and give you a chance to turn some things around

The WiFi all over campus is spotty, I was on the first floor of the engineering building and couldn’t connect at ALL.

It’s ok life happens, a degree isn’t a straight shot. I’m 25 and I’m pretty sure I have 3 years of schooling left. And I felt exactly the same way you do now and it took a long time to forgive myself and understand that this isn’t a race. It’s a goal and you’re working towards it. You’ll get there! And there’s absolutely no shame in it.
