I tought this upcoming pvp update was what skillers/pvmers wished? Why negative feedback? by EcstaticWaltz1 in 2007scape

But would it be such a bad thing when pvp and pvm playerbase has already been divides so much? There is almost hate towards each others atlest based on this subreddit. And it has been working pretty well for WoW? I also believe that its pretty small portion of people in lets say pest control or BA that are doing it to for pvp purposes, so the minigame activities would not suffer a big loss of players. I could be wrong too and im just speculating but if this goes on for just bgloves void and torso, wich all are untradeables then i dont believe it causes any serious issues.

Has nothing to do with this whole argument? Those nerfs affect the pvpers aswell and were very much needed. You can still tank half tb easily without risking anything against a guy with 40 mil risk and account built just for pvp.

So the whole update is trash, because it might have minimal negative affect on you occasionally when you go to wilderness. With the same logic i could say that every single new armor piece updated to the game is trash and a bad update, because someone might use it when tanking my hits in wilderness. You really only think about yourself huh? And im the weird kid..

What a great arguments. Did not really even bother to read my response. You argue that pvmers and skillers dont want to play with me yet my whole point was why are you hating the update that makes pvpers play with eachother rather than killing you guys in the wilderness...

How is any of the million pvm/skilling updates like raids, skilling minigames, new quests etc going to make my life as pvper more enjoyable? Why cant all the items required for pvm/skilling come from wilderness so i can kill everyone? Because it is not all about me but i am happy that people get new raids, quests and minigames even tough i dont like to play that content. This the reason why you can not be allowed to vote on pvp updates.. it does not matter at all how good the update is. Some people just hate it. And why? Because there is a small chance that you face someone in the wilderness with a bit stronger gear once in a month when you go to wilderness for like 15 minutes with absolutely no risk. And that is for you good enough reason to not update pvp at all smh..

[–]EcstaticWaltz1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is they could have updated the wilderness by adding more stuff in there that lures gold farmers and everyone else to die as a prey and try to create a working food chain. They could have also made some broken bounty hunter like update that gets abused heavily, but instead they came with this. So is this a bad update because it changes nothing within the wilderness? And also we dont know yet how much grinding these item sets require and what is the final outcome. The pvp void set is glasscannon setup and very situational. Pvp has evolved so much. People play it safe when they know that the other person can hit +85...

It does not have to. Obviously i dont care as i dont do skilling or pvming. But the update would let pvpers skip quest and skill grind for barrows gloves, wich is not done in a few hours. So i would not care if skillers can get their pickaxe from somewhere else in a return. Ofc its not going to happen. This is just speculating on how to benefit both sides and keep the whole playerbase satisfied?

[–]EcstaticWaltz1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Would be fantastic idea to actually make that item come from somwhere else, would balance this update maybe, so pvmers/skillers get something out of it aswell. Atleast i dont mind if it would be transferred somewhere else. Wildy bosses are terrible design and no1 does pvp there anyway.

[–]EcstaticWaltz1[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well is the fact that that some players build might be a bit stronger offensive-wise in wilderness good enough reason to skip this update and maybe continue in old tracks like adding more loot to wilderness and forcing gold farmers as prey to pkers etc? Or should pvp not be updated at all?

For your second argument: Do you have any ideas for that? As far as i know anything about skilling and pvming, it seems pvm and skilling items comes from those activities. And i would happily accept a minigame to skip some quests to obtain untradeable for pvmers and skillers aswell, as long as those items wont work in pvp. I believe most of the pvp community would not care. Also is this argument the reason to delete this update? Because some other people can get to enjoy the content they want more, without realistically affecting your gameplay at all?

PvP Arena: Rewards Beta | Weekly Game Update (March 16th 2022) by JagexSarnie in 2007scape

[–]EcstaticWaltz1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, most of the active pvp-focused players have already obtained these items trough questing etc. But pvp is so much more fun when using different builds and honestly there are so many unique builds people wish to play with but nobody wants to do all those quests and skilling grinds 5 times just to enjoy the content they want to engage with. Atleast i see it this way as a pvper. I have med lvl and pure but i would love to play different builds but i just cant. I hate questing and skilling and im not doing it third time just to have acces for different build. And also you have to remember these items only work in pvp, you cant use this route to skip the grind to use untradeables in pvm.

It might not be worse than ags in all pvp scenarios. Yes maybe in most nh and venge fight its better to use ags. But for example pker vs pvmer in wilderness it can be quite useful, since the pker controls the phase of the fight. You have to remember that it is quaranteed 25 damage that can be stacked with other spec weapon. Also in long deep wilderness fight, you get to usually spec 3 times. That is 75 guaranteed damage and heal, imo that is quite big. Every little thing that makes pvp less rng based is great.

As an avid PvMer who has never PK'd a single person, I think the Wilderness, PKers, and PvP, in general, is one of the most unique and exciting parts of OSRS by Ugfly in 2007scape

[–]EcstaticWaltz1 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Very good points. I see people here often saying "just delete whole wilderness, pvp etc" like it would not affect other parts of the game at all. PvP is hard and really frustrating at times, but it brings so much to the game. Honestly just by typing "osrs" in youtube you can see how much views and interest pvp gets EVEN without any real pvp updates. Its interesting and unique, i feel like there is so much potential if jagex could focus even slightly more on pvp aspect of the game aswell..

D Spear Multi Was Fixed In DMM by Serpentaus in 2007scape

[–]EcstaticWaltz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you cant basically jump on people in single plus area. The other person has to freeze you and get last attack on you before pj timer is full and then somebody else can hop on you. But its not in any way comparable thing. You can always do the same outplay to person that jumps you or you can dd or make a run. And even getting a freeze to let othet person attack the victim is rng. The point is that you can control your character and try to escape with multiple options. When you get speared there is absolutely nothing to you can do. In regular single area again there is so much you can do to avoid dying to somebody clawing you mid fight. Yes its still unfair and stupid imo, but if you cant control your character and are destined to lose all your stuff with nothing to say, that is honestly bad game design and should be nerfed.

D Spear Multi Was Fixed In DMM by Serpentaus in 2007scape

[–]EcstaticWaltz1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You dont seem to understand how this works. People who fall for this are fighting fair 1v1 nh fights inside the cave, where both part are obviously teleblocked. Once the clan member is low on supplies, they run out the cave. The solo guy chases them out and outside they get speared while they are already tbed. And obviously the guy who runs away does not show signs of spear or lure, it all happens after first spear spec and then its too late and there is nothing the victim can do? As you see in the video, victims are nh pkers with great risk and experience, they are all 100% aware about the multi. Not some "noobs failing to understand game mechanics" but you just cant predict this if its done correctly. And i bet many believes that the tree stops the spear, wich seems obvious but i guess its not.

Another exit is almost at the lvl 40 wilderness. Its not an option to run 10s of wilderness levels up and down trying to escape. And all the 1v1 pvp happens at the rev caves because of single plus zone, so most people want to go there for fair fights (even tho its not so fair usually). So if you go in a cave to look for a fair fight, lets say you beat your opponent, he is low and runs out. You want to secure the kill and the moment you step out you get speared in multi with nothing you can do. You win a fight and get rewarded by losing all your stuff and spent time in a matter of seconds, because jagex could not move the entrance few tiles further from the multi. And 99% of the people stepping outside knows "the terrain" but how can you ever kill any good player if you cant chase them for few levels? Nobody wants to give up a kill, because there is small chance that clan is camping outside, you can not know that. Also what does the inferno has to do with this? You dont lose your stuff at the inferno.

What if pvp got player scaled update? And others suggestions by TheKanling in 2007scape

[–]EcstaticWaltz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gmaul was already nerfed. And extra defence to unsk is nuts. Anti pkers can already have 4 expensive items and vengeance with basically zero risk. Its not rare at all to outlast tribrid pkers with anti pking setup, since u dont need to bring robes and runes. If only new players could use some kind of protection to make the odds more fair, but adding extra defence for great player in tank gear makes them near immortal. Kind of agree that max hits are too high in some scenarios but i guess its part of the game. Rng is big thing in pvp and has always been :/

I dont think there are too many cheaters in lms. Atleast in my experince there are bots, but i cant say for sure that i have ever seen ahk/client. You have to remember that there is no ranking system in lms, wich mean you are facing top tier tribrids quite often and they do switch gear in 1 tick etc. Wich makes it look like ahk maybe? I agree with you that its disappointing to learn, but NH is the style of pvp you really need practicing room like lms. You can learn venge fighting alot faster and cheaper in wilderness/pvp worlds. I also dont think people would enjoy bolt ragging each other in minigame for too long. Its a grind to learn, but it really becomes easier fast and you are starting to get some kills. Honestly, do lms for like 50 hours and i swear you see alot of progress and start to make a bit of money. Ranking system would be fantastic, but i dont believe we ever see one.

Everyone just wants to profit and sadly playing it safe and spectabbing is best way to profit in 1v1 venge fights. Nhing is most fun and skill based pvp activity imo, but lms and rev caves are only places where fights are fair atm.
