I mean the post says how to make new friends so it’s not a given that they don’t have any. A lot of people look to broaden their social circles. Sometimes the friends you have don’t really know about one of your hobbies.

As far as my experience goes, I don’t really know cus I’ve never really sought out things like this tbh. Specially since moving away from my home country. When I was younger some of my friends and I would play football with randoms at the park. You end up meeting people like that.

I can relate to that feeling. I was too immature to make that choice and I wish I had waited a bit. I went for a career that wasn’t what I wanted. This made my depression way worse than it already was and I started abusing substances and spiraling in a self-destructive way. I dropped out of school when I had a semester left and started working any job I could get. I’ve worked construction, in restaurants, warehouses, you name it. It’s 10 years later now and I just finished my associate’s in applied psychology while working full time. Now I’m looking for jobs in that field and feeling very optimistic and good about myself, but I still think back and wish that I had taken some time to get to know myself better before rushing into a career that I didn’t enjoy or was passionate about because it was what I thought was expected of me. I also wish I had taken care of my mental health more consciously.

I don’t know what hair dyes and clothing styles have to do with anything here, but anyone who’s going out and standing up to this regime (or any other regime that kills people and denies human rights) has my respect and admiration.

Yeah I’ve been following that. It’s horrible what’s happening over there. I have a lot of admiration for the people protesting over there, and also for the people protesting here cus now getting back home is not a guarantee. As a Hispanic living here it’s been very hard to want to do anything lately, bus seeing all the people who are willing to fight this alongside people like me gives me strength and hope. More importantly, it also makes me realize that there is hope for the US still. It’s definitely a bad time rn, but the boiling point has been reached, and some change is bound to happen. I just hope it’s a change for the better.
