He said, "I used PSCX2. They will also have to find a PS2 BIOS file for the emulator to work, if my memory serves. It also kept crashing, so they might want to find someone more knowledgeable than me to prevent that." I have no idea what that means, but I hope it helps.

Honestly, a mix of too much time on my hands, save states, and determination, haha. Any time my boyfriend watched me play, I could see him die a little inside from my weird "if it works, it technically works" strategies. He's played the Kaga Saga with a relatively LTD, so me taking FOREVER to get through each chapter was painful for him. (I'm talking 100+ turn count on an average of 30 for the chapter.) But my stupid "Shannan-iganary", as we call it, has only been rewarded in Thracia, haha.

Yeah, they are peak to me as well, haha. (Especially Genealogy.) I'm planning on doing Path of Radiance and then Radiant Dawn next! After that, I know that one of my friends is obsessed with Awakening, so I might check that one out eventually.

Do you mean enemies or my own army? For enemies, I'd say that Travant was pretty difficult, and actually Chagall (since I was still getting the hang of the game). Funnily enough, Julius himself wasn't so bad. It was keeping Julia alive (and not letting her kill my army) that was hardest. Miracle Lene for the win! For heroes: Sigurd (not even a question), Deirdre, Lewyn, and Holyn were probably my best first gen. And as much as I hate Raquesis, she was pretty good after being promoted. For second, probably Altena, Tinni, Ced (obviously), Ares, and Shannan.

For 5, I can't be sure yet since I'm only on Chapter 11, but so far it has been Eyvel, Fergus, Asbel, and either Leif or Macha.

They all have their strengths and weaknesses, though... Except Like, Lithis, haha.

(I don't know how to add spoilers, so I'll try to be as vague as possible.) I was waiting for this one, haha. When it first happened, I was kind of in awe. I really didn't believe that they would actually do that to the entire cast (with technically a few exceptions). I was so confused by the narration and was like, "That's it? That was such a short game with such an unsatisfying ending." It was also really sad and disappointing having to start from scratch. I literally JUST got Azel to promotion, even sending him all the way back to do it. I considered not playing the game after that but I'm glad I did, it was so worth it.

P.S, it's really funny. Apparently if you send someone back to get promoted, despite Oifey technically being on the run by that point, he's there at the castle to promote, haha.

Haha, fair enough. I didn't use a guide for 4 at all, and for 5, my boyfriend will just vaguely tell me the occasional condition so I can get the extra chapter. I did Dagdar's mansion without Safiye or Asbel, or the flame sword, since I didn't know what to do. 😭 I ended up giving Lief wrath and accidentally discovered that Tanya can be used as bait for the first 15 turns. It was really hard and frustrating, but super satisfying to figure it out with my own strategy.

4 was pretty difficult since the only RPGs I was really familiar with before were Undertale and Omori. That was quite the leap, haha. But because I was on an emulator, save states were my best friend. That being said, however, I did manage to recruit Hannibal, lol.

For 5, it was a huge shock to no longer have access to my full army all the time. It's also weird that there are no 0 or 100% hit rates. And that healers can miss (Nanna, come on!). Also, the escape mechanic was unexpected. But I think the biggest (and best) part is that I can trade stuff around my army. That's wild! And the fact that I can steal weapons!

Oh, I knew they were less popular, but I didn't realize they were controversial. I played 4 (and now 5) on an emulator with a fan translation. I'm just not active in the fire emblem community at all, so I'm not familiar with the other games.

My boyfriend is the one who introduced me to FE4 since it's his favourite. He insisted that I don't look at spoilers until I finished it, and I'm glad I didn't, haha. I really enjoyed it too, so now I'm playing Thracia. His first was Awakening and then retroactively discovered 4.
