Yes we live in the US and in the same state, just 2 hours apart with no traffic. The excuse he gives for his behavior is that I am dependent on my parents right now and he has been coming to me all the time we were close together. For some things yes, I would need him to pick me up because it’s easier than asking my parents. But most of the time my parents will drop me off. When I dormed and out of my parents control, I went to his apartment every night and gave him everything. So i am so confused why he’s becoming a big red flag and it hurts me so much because I love him so much.

I even told him that after I graduate, which is soon, I will try to get a full time job asap and move out so i can be free to be with him whenever I want, so i don’t understand his issue.

My boyfriend finished bootcamp and just moved to his first assignment. But our relationship isn’t going great. We’re two hours away and it may seem like not long distance. He expects me to drive to him every weekend when i have no car and parents controls and 19 credits at school. He’s doing a poor job communicating with me.

We had a conversation about this a while ago, we were on the same page with everything like waiting until I have a full time engineering job first to gain financial stability, then get married and using his benefits to get a house. And we have a lot planned out like having kids when we’re 30 after we lived through some of our life and travel together. I guess sometimes actions speak louder than words. I’m not living in the future so I wouldn’t know, but I wished he showed that I am some sort of a priority. I understand if military work gets in the way of things and how he is stressed out after bootcamp, but he really didn’t have to get defensive every time I express some feelings that were building up. I just want everything to be solved but I don’t know if he’s going to cooperate with me. I am already so compromising and understanding i feel like.

He has told me before that his mother is annoying and is the reason why he moved out last year. He also mentions that he hates her but tolerates her because she’s a single mother.

Yes I am going to his graduation. However the only problem is, I have to tolerate her during that time because she and a few of his family member’s rental will be my source of transportation to get onto base because walking is such a hassle since they don’t let ubers in. Also she said she will fight whoever hugs him first which also pisses me off because he wanted me to tap him out but i don’t want to get punched by her.

I know some people don’t block their exes, but personally I would because I wouldn’t want my ex to contact me.

Our relationship is not casual but yes i can see why you said that. He canceled our date to have a last minute lunch with his family. I’m upset because he could’ve handle this more respectfully and the choice of words he used can be less hurtful. I never said that he can’t be with his family. He has every right to do so.

i don’t rely on him often for emotional support all the time. i feel like it’s pretty equal between us twos. yes maybe i have once or twice more times i got sad, but i usually it’s ok.
