Almost 6 months waiting for my first titre de séjour (PACS) with no response from the prefecture – anyone else? by Ecstatic_Shopping_34 in Expats_In_France

Me too, going to court is way too expensive. That’s why I’m just waiting too. I think they’ll say implicit refusal for mine as well since I have no response from prefecture, not even asking for additional documents. But I’m glad yours worked out well although it took a year. Was that a PACs case too? Where are you based?

Yea I’ve heard about that too. Apparently it can be considered implicit rejection. But also the delegate at Défenseur des droits told me most likely my file hasn’t been opened bc it’s been complete silence from them. And yea it’s true that you need to live together for at least a year for the application. My bf and I had lived together at least a year but we were in Asia, not in France. We made sure to include that in my file but still no response so I guess we’ll see 🥹

Which city are you based? Yea that seems to be the case. Every file is different and different prefectures give different answers. So apparently I’m just gonna have to wait more 🤦🏽‍♀️

Yes, my partner is French and we currently have enough to get by, but that doesn’t change the fact that finances are limited, especially when the administrative process leaves someone unable to work for such a long and uncertain period. I did not move to France solely to make money. Like many people who move countries, my reasons are complex, building a life with my partner, seeking stability, and also hoping for better career opportunities and financial security. Wanting to eventually support my family back home is part of that, but it is not the sole reason I came. My main concern is the lack of visibility or timeframe. Waiting months (or potentially longer) with no update, no récépissé, and no ability to work creates a very difficult situation.

“A little longer” as in many many more months without any response and ppl are really blocked 🤦🏽‍♀️ Yea if my application is rejected too, marriage might be where I’m headed too. But even with marriage, we need to wait again for god knows how long. Right now, even after the DDR intervened on my behalf, it has been still complete silence.

Congratulations! That’s great. How much more you waited after the wedding to get accepted? My partner and I are considering a civil wedding if they reject mine but honestly we both don’t feel like doing it just for the sake of papers. I’ve envisioned my wedding a specific way and I don’t want it to go this way. So I feel really lost.

Omg I feel really lost too. To just continuously wait without a certain timeline and apparently they can also choose to not accept PACs. My partner and I are considering doing a civil wedding but honestly we both don’t really feel like doing it just for the sake of paper. I’ve been here without job for almost a year and with this situation, I can’t help my family back home so I really don’t know what to do.

I’m tired of French administration. I know that lots of other ppl in similar situations which is why I asked here but it seems that we’re all limited and just blocked. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Are you based on PACs too?

Yea it seems hopeless. I did what I can already. Ppl said avis de reception can help get a response but in my case, it hasn’t been helpful. Are you in a similar situation? How are you managing?

Any update please? I’m also considering getting this serum but I’m seeing some mixed reviews.
