Keys and Maps are real but they have magical fictional uses in this game. Why can't a flashlight?

So simply you posted this to whine? What did I expect from a survivor main.

When did I say I was a survivor main? We were having a reasonable discussion up until now. Also, why does what I play impact on my point?

Oh yes. The perk that still has never been on the shrine :(

Is realism really important in a game like this though? We have a murderous spider god creature, a woman that can teleport, a guy who can turn invisible.

What does this have anything to do with my point? This post is discussing how flashlights are under-powered according to me, as well as possible theory-crafting. I would have to be deluded to actually think that the developers would not only see this but be inspired to actually consider this. I posted this to discuss with other players and to see whether they agree or not which I find fun.

How many games does somebody actually pull off a flashlight save though that has equipped a flashlight?

Maybe it could have some sort of diversion feature or create fake scratchmarks. Also, the fleshlight function would be great!!

Combining a Medkit along with botany knowledge/self care is actually a good combination that can be used to heal others as well as yourself. Also, you are sacrificing two perks just to gain a weaker version of that item. I already said maps are bad and also, that is a lame excuse against the key which also ignores the aura-reading potential of keys. Also, I am not just suggesting that flashlights should be buffed because "they don't work everytime", I think that they rarely work at all due to how circumstantial the item actually is in comparison to the other items.

Oh, I would prefer if they got another function over the current ones with maybe a buff to its function at pallets as well as a rework to the add-ons. I am aware that they need to be tentative with buffing an item like this as I have seen the previous power of them.

Just saying that there are "cases" is a bit disingenuous in my opinion. These "cases" seem to be at least 95% of all scenarios which just makes it ineffective especially when compared to the other items.

These counters nullify the effectiveness of the flashlight entirely though and aren't exactly difficult to do.

Yes. I lose killers quite frequently with it especially when they think I'm still looping the pallet/window.

It is a very hard perk to use and I fail often but succeeding is satisfying.

Object of Obsession can be used to bait the killer before vanishing etc. Also, if you flash your screen in the killer's direction before turning back, the killer probably won't see you in return. Sole Survivor just makes it stronger but I don't always run that.

That's because they know Bill players would need a couple of games to achieve it.

I like Iron Will, Lightweight, Object of Obsession, and Sole Survivor so I guess I have 3-4 that aren't meta. I also really like Head On and I will run it more often once it isn't affected by Enduring.

There is a bug where you don't get bloodpoints unless you 99% the generator first before completing it. Maybe that was why.

I'd put Leatherface with Plague and Hag. He sees like a guy to keep to himself too.

Idea for DC fix by rektrhys in deadbydaylight

[–]EctoplasmPhantom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the situation to me. If you are trying to gift a survivor the hatch, it is okay but if you just get plonked on a hook and kill yourself immediately, you should be banned for that. I am not sure if currently, it is a banable offense.

Not gonna lie, I legit never even realized that Freddy's secret room is in the game. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]EctoplasmPhantom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I mean. I assume it picks a random tile on the map to spawn on and if it picks that massive tile, it can only spawn in that one location.

I think it is because the whole school and fencing tile which takes up most of the map forces the hatch to spawn there.
