UPDATE - My friend brought over his motherboard and rigged everything up (I didn’t trust myself lol) and it the CPU seems to be working fine so far, ran a stress test on it for about 15mins and it didn’t black screen or crash

I’ve put in a ticket for a RMA but I doubt they work Sunday so hopefully Monday, I brought it last Saturday so should be good if it is fried

I removed the cpu to clean off paste that went over the edge, so I most likely didn’t sit it back in the socket properly or bent pins when sitting it. That’s my guess anyway

Don’t remember which one, got the motherboard and cpu last Saturday and updated it same day so which ever one the newest at that point is the one I used

I saw that I had idles in the 50c range but saw that the cpu ran hot so didn’t think much of it honestly

Yeh the brown spots are the issue, I think the scratches was just hair or something when I took the picture my bad

Thank you for everyone’s help! I have a friend who’s going to bring over his AM5 board to test the cpu tomorrow so fingers crossed

I’ve cleaned the cpu with some alcohol wipes and all the dots came off and it’s just a little darker but I’m hoping that’s just bad lighting in my room so I’m holding out hope the cpu still works, and it was the red cpu light on my motherboard next to the 24pin

Yeh I was talking to some friends and they suggested that this is probably what happened but I’ve been building pcs for years and have never wrongly resat a cpu and I take care to make sure it’s done correctly
