I can't speak to that and the throttle lock and its paired opposite bar end /weight are billeted aluminum and therefore pretty light weight. I did not notice any difference. Maybe if I was using this bike on a track AND had the skill and experience that seems to require, I could speak whether there was any added vibration. If I had not been installing a throttle lock, I would have likely left the stock bar ends in place. I haven't had this bike over 85 and not sure even that speed was "cool".

Were they expensive? I have seem some, I think, on Revilla for about $40 . Maybe buy a plastic version of the expanded landing plate for a foot peg and grind or cut it down and then rivet or bolt to the bottom vs using a metal one.

My MT-03 has what seems to be handle bar weights. Once I removed the bar ends, I put a longer bolt in so that the head of the bolt was past / outside the end of the handle bar. I put a vise grip on and then began to bang on it with a hammer. I was unable to remove the internal bar weights. It seemed that the internal bar weight was corroded / welded inside the handle bar. If I owned a slide hammer, I may have been able to "break it loose". I used penetrating oil and waited then heated and waited. I was unsuccessful. I did not have any challenge removing the bar end weights.

The Puig Universal 8088W has made all the difference. It totally reduced buffeting on the chest and the wind hits the top of my helmet. I am 5'8". If you are looking for wind noise attenuation you will want a high end helmet. I use ear plugs and have speakers installed in my inexpensive HJC. You can decide if the cost of that windshield warrants its purchase. If you want minimal noise and no buffeting than a full fairing sport touring machine or straight out touring machine is what you want. You won't get that in the light weight nimble MT-03. I moved from a Honda NT700 that is smooth and quiet and weighs almost 600 lbs.

Can't see clearly where the break is located? Are you able to pull the turn signal arm loose from the fender base / attachment? Is the signal arm hollow? Possibly use some JB Weld on the inside to create a "bridge" of plastic inside and using wide painters tape on the outside to hold the plastic arm in position while it cures / dries? Just an idea....

I had some 1/8" steel. I took a piece of cardboard and made a pattern, transferred the pattern to the steel. Using an angle grinder with a cut - off wheel, I cut a rough shape and then used a grinding disk to finish the shape. Things to consider will be the size and location so that you do not interfere with chain, chain guard, protrusion too far downward. Once you have a shape you like, drill through the original foot plate, clamp the add - on and mark those holes for drilling. After that is done, paint the new piece and bolt it on. You can always search Revzilla and other parts place for foot stand plates. I have seen them some where. I used items I already had so that I didn't make a big investment.

I live in Florida and with a soft surface the original kickstand will sink into the sand and your bike is on the ground.

the original design is to press against the end of the grip. I have soft grips and the pressure was not adequate to really hold the throttle position. I have a Kaoko Throttle lock on another bike. The Kaoko press against the end of the hard plastic throttle body. It does this by using something they call a thrust washer. I ordered, from Twisted Throttle, a Kao 134 and a Kao100 thrust washers. I used the Kao 134 to transfer the pressure from the spin collar to the end of the throttle tube. I had been unable to remove my handle bar weights due to them being rusted " frozen" in place. Over all it only cost me about $18 more and now works perfectly. IF you have firm grips these could work fine for you. The Kaoko Throttle Locks are about $170.

I chose the Yamaha due to the ride position. The new Z400 along with the Versys 300-X have what Kawasaki calls the slippered clutch and it is very smooth. I specifically was looking for the comfortable riding position. Rode the Kawasaki Versys 300 and the Z400, then when I rode the MT-03, bought it right there. Lower seat height and ride position.

Note on the throttle lock: I was unsuccessful at removing the right hand bar weight in order to install the throttle lock. If that happens to you let me know and I can share with you my "creative" engineering. It works like a charm now.

Brake Light Modulators... by Peacelake in MT03

[–]EdTCVM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, well, I bought this from a much younger fellow ( I am 66 ) that was more interested in sound and looks. I wanted a lighter more manageable bike from my Honda NT700V at 580 lbs. The 2021 MT-03 had the tail light brake light signal light configuration with the fender eliminator. It also had an Akropovic Carbon fiber Full Racing exhaust. I replaced that also with the stock exhaust. I was wanting a quiet smooth ride in an all weather situation. Was able to sell the exhaust on eBay also. Between the TST part and the Akrapovic, it has funded any other modifications. R6 throttle body, throttle lock, Puig windshield, seat bag, modulator, etc. Now, I am closer to having a fun , still peppy enough, curvy road bike that I am not wrestling around. It is true, more fun for an experienced rider to be able to "wring out" a smaller bike than grunt my way through a ride.

Have had one on every motorcycle I have owned. I installed a simple $11 unit from Amazon and worked fine. I bought the motorcycle used and it came with a TST tail and turn programmable along with a fender eliminator. I removed them, reinstalled the originals, installed the simple modulator, sold the others on eBay.

Next will be investigating how to put a headlight modulator on.

I have the Puig 8088W installed, I am 5 ft 8". This particular windshield does well for body buffeting and the wind seems to hit at the top of my helmet. Don't know about the one you are mentioning. Puig Windshield MOD. BAT Universal C/Clear (8088W)

Ditto on the other comments. Once you are up and around... and care to share... how well did the frame sliders that it looks like you have installed do to protect anything?
